Coach Prime rumors are swirling, and Deion Sanders‘ confidant, Uncle Neely, is stepping in to set the record straight!  Recent whispers painted Deion as distant from his Buffaloes players, but Uncle Neely isn’t buying it.

Days ago, Uncle Neely declared, “If you go to his camp you won’t see him. They say if you see him, he won’t speak. They say if he speaks, he won’t coach you. They are wrong again about Coach Prime.” Now he is also breaking down his words to Buffs fans.

On a recent episode of “Thee Pregame Show Network,” the host asked more about Uncle Neely’s latest comments on the Colorado Buffaloes head coach. He explains that some, “they have this notion because Deion Sanders is a celebrity….that he is he’s distant from his players or you not going to get to know him and have a relationship with him.” Uncle Neely then called it “furthest from the truth.”

As evidence, Uncle Neely points to Deion’s active involvement at recent camps. “He’s out there coaching these kids,” he emphasizes. “From critiquing at the elite level to instructing younger players.” Whether it’s demanding training or fun outdoor activities, Deion is present and pushing his players to improve. “So this dude is a hands-on leader,” Uncle Neely concludes firmly.

“Please don’t think that he’s up in some Ivory Tower and you can’t talk to him” he adds, shutting down rumors of Deion being aloof. “He’s a man amongst the people.” However, it’s worth noting that some departing Buffaloes players might have a different perspective.

Deion Sanders’ first year at Colorado leaves some players chilling

Deion Sanders’ arrival at Colorado last year came with a major roster shakeup. He let go of dozens of players, and some departing Buffs expressed disappointment over his perceived coldness. Former linebacker Eoghan Kerry shared a disheartening experience on his final day. He attempted to shake Deion’s hand and express gratitude, but the coach simply said, “Yeah buddy you got it,” and pointed towards the door, “He wouldn’t even look me in the eye,” Kerry lamented.

Even, offensive lineman Travis Gray echoed the sentiment, stating, “I’m not sure he knew the names of half the kids he got rid of.” He felt Deion “didn’t really care about us at all.” Now recently, former safety Xavier Smith alleged Deion is “Destroying guys’ confidence and belief in themselves.”

While some might argue Deion doesn’t need to be friendly with players he’s letting go, these comments have definitely hurt his image. Now, Uncle Neely’s recent defense is like a welcome boost for Deion, who is facing negativity surrounding his leadership.
