Deion Sanders, the coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, talks about the absence of strong parental figures from his life in a recent heartbreaking video. The 60-year-old didn’t have the best performance with his team this season but managed to win hearts all over the country, making him one of the most popular coaches of college football. And he shared a story about his younger sporting days that almost brought him to tears.

The Colorado Buffaloes finished at the bottom of the points table with a record of 4-8. Even though the Buffs’ didn’t play as well, Sanders managed to singlehandedly revolutionize the program. Coach Prime was able to garner all the love and support from his fans due to his determination and need to chase success even in the worst of times. In a recent interview, he shares his mantra to be able to be the person he is and it’s not a rainbow-coloured story.

On the latest episode of VSG Entertainment, Deion Sanders makes an appearance as a guest to talk about his life and what Coach Prime as an attribute essentially means. The conversation took a sad turn when he talked about how his parents never showed up to watch him play any of his games, be it basketball, football, or baseball.

He said, “Every time I talk about this, I almost break down. No one ever came to see me play in high school. My momma was always working and my stepfather didn’t come because he was doing his thing. So, that allows you to understand Prime. So I didn’t need your handclaps, I didn’t need your, “You go, boy!”Because I had to look in the mirror and reconcile that ain’t nobody gonna be here. “

Years later, Sanders continues to be a source of inspiration for many athletes who strive to reach the same levels of success that he currently sits atop. Moreover, he had extra motivation for his fans when he released a video of him jogging after undergoing 11 surgeries on his thigh.

On 8th January, the Buffs coach released the video where he could be seen slowly jogging a few yards, something which he hadn’t done in a long time due to the severity of his condition. The video which has since been liked by over 172,223 people, shows the essence of who Coach Prime really is.

Deion captioned the video by saying, “Day 7 ! #21DayswithPrime I got mine. Today was the 1st day I really Jogged since my 11 SURGERIES due to my Blood Clots in my legs & Thighs. Thank you God #CoachPrime” He continues to defy all odds when it comes to achieving his goals and counts his blessings as he recovers more gradually every day.
