With the early season rankings rolling in, Shedeur Sanders is expected to be at the top, again. While it will be his performance that decides if he retains the position or not, Shedeur Sanders has been ranked the topmost QB post-Spring in the whole of Big 12. Naturally, the fans expect him to be featured on the cover of all top glossy football magazines, with him being the top Big-12 QB and the top NIL-valued player in the NCAA. Well, EA Sports broke that myth in a second.

Building the tease around their much-awaited, EA Sports College Football 25 released the cover for their deluxe edition on the PlayStation Store. Featuring in the center in Michigan’s star RB Donovan Edwards, accompanied by QB Quinn Ewers on his left, and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter on the right. The top QB in the Big 12, however, is nowhere to be seen.

The moment came as nothing less than a shock for the CFB fans, as the ones featured on the cover confidently made their way towards a packed, energy-filled stadium. The news stunned fans mainly because it was just in December 2023 that rumors of Shedeur Sanders being the top cover athlete of EA Sports College Football 25 were going strong.

With the move, fans would now be even more thrilled to see the character of Shedeur in the upcoming edition. “In EA SPORTS™ College Football 25 experience explosive gameplay variety across 134 FBS schools and immerse yourself in the iconic atmospheres of college football as you chase college greatness,” reads the description of the game in the PlayStation Store. That, the fans know already. What they do want to know, however, is the reason behind snubbing Shedeur from the cover, despite him being the No.1 player.

With offense relatively set with Jordan Seaton and Co. Shedeur Sanders is now expected to play some of his best games with CU. In his past season, because of the choppy offense, Shedeur Sanders was sacked more times than he could run for a total of 52 times, making him the most sacked QB in the nation.

Now that Deion Sanders has fortified the offense, there shouldn’t be anything majorly problematic for the QB. Another factor motivating him to play the best ball would be his draft report. If Shedeur wants the popularity he expects in the 2025 NFL draft, he would need to display some seriously exceptional performance this season.
