Dynamism would be the perfect word to describe the current football landscape. The Michigan Wolverines brought home their first National Championship after 1997, amidst the sign-stealing fiasco. As if it was not headline-prompting enough, Jim Harbaugh

bidding his adieu to the Wolverines garnered major media attention.

Now that Michigan’s contract is on Harbaugh’s table, along with the two very lucrative and tempting offers from the Falcon and the Commanders, the decision will be tacky for him. However, NFL expert Colin Cowherd believes one of the two teams has an upper hand.

Jim Harbaugh is probable to incline toward Washington

“I think you’ve convinced me Washington could have a slight edge in that division,” were the first words at the very beginning of the Instant Reaction by Colin Cowherd. The reason? The demanding requirements of the other teams who are in the Jim Harbaugh race. “The Giants have a lot of issues I was told the coaches didn’t like them. I thought day ball was really good last year but they have had a lot of strife internally. One of the best assets on the coaching staff was like I’m out quit which is not normal. I mean that’s that’s a huge red flag,” stated Cowherd.

On Monday morning, New York Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale resigned, per a league source. Along with him, other coaching staff special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey, offensive line coach Bobby Johnson, outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins, and defensive assistant Kevin Wilkins were fired on Monday, as the Giants finished 6-11 this season. All the teams with disappointing records are vying for Harbaugh, given his SB history with the Niners.

However, with Washington, Jim Harbaugh has a high chance, per Cowherd. Washington let go of head coach Ron Rivera about a week ago. The position sits wide vacant for Harbaugh to fill the shoes in. It will be a lucrative offer as well. But will it be enough compared to the massive offer (and the chemistry) that Michigan has offered?

Michigan’s offer to Harbaugh

Safe to say, Michigan officials are doing all they can to make Harbaugh stay. The university has offered him a $125 million contract extension, running through 10 years, giving him a hefty $55 million per year. The offer makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the NCAA.
