Deion Sanders and Sean Payton now seem to be standing on the same platform. Even though both Colorado Buffaloes and Denver Broncos are yet to get their first breakthrough under their new coaches, the critical meter changes from time to time. Hence, the Denver Sports podcast on July 4 came up with an unbiased scrutiny of the two coaches.
All that the journalist Philip Lindsay wanted was to put Deion and Sean at the same table. While Payton is still struggling with his QB Bo Nix, the last chance narrative has been a burden over Deion.

Ever since Deion stepped into his second season, comparisons started pouring in with the Denver HC. Lindsay took this up in the Denver Sports podcast. He started with, “If we are gonna criticize Coach Prime, we are gonna criticize Sean Payton for not winning either because Sean is the HC. Everything runs through Sean and it’s about trying to win games and just not just develop on players.”

The co-host strongly believes that Coach Prime has stood up for his actions, as he did engage in some hard work by bolstering up the offensive line. While on the other hand, Payton and the Broncos resort to excuses. “There are built-in excuses for Sean, “hey we are not gonna start Bo (Nix) right away” That’s an excuse in itself,” highlighted Philip. Things have been difficult for Payton ever since they parted ways with Russell Wilson. Even though they selected Bo Nix with the 12th overall selection in the draft, there are certain roadblocks.

Nix joins Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson in the Broncos’ quarterback room. Neither Stidham nor Wilson are even veteran players that a team would trust, yet Payton is not ready to allow Nix to take up the starter role. On the other hand, Deion’s “last chance” narrative also comes into play.
High expectations for Deion Sanders
Colorado football alum, Lindsay has pinpointed how Deion and Payton should have shared the same level of criticism. According to the player, Coach Prime did not match up to the scrutiny level that his Mile High City NFL counterpart Payton received, particularly after the Denver Broncos failed to make the postseason.

As Lindsay revealed to The Drive, drawing light to the Broncos HC being held responsible for his coaching stints. “There should have been a lot of criticism for Coach Prime and what he brought to the table as a coach in certain situations. That has to get better,” confidently claimed the Buff alum.
It was also taken up by another co-host, Zach Bye, who highlighted that Deion Sanders is in the prime spot to win. He highlighted, “If you can’t win with Shedeur Sanders playing QB who you believe as the No.1 pick in the draft and you are the No.1 portal team and you got the defensive player of the year…I dont see this year why would I expect to see it in year 3?” It’s now to be seen who shares the last laugh!
