Sports Illustrated gave the world quite a surprise yesterday by Deion Sanders as their ‘Sports Person of the Year 2023′. Safe to say, fans were not glad about it after the un-boastful score Colorado concluded their season with. At the gunpoint were Coach Prime and his in-vouge QB son Shedeur Sanders. Yet, he was nowhere in the top three on Sanders’ favorite kids’ list.

Coach Sanders is known for his signature ways, even when they are something that many parents would reluctantly keep at arm’s length: ranking his kids, or ‘power ranking’, as he calls it. Coach Prime’s favorite child changes from time to time, based on their performances. Something Sanders has garnered a ton of attention in the past.

Deion Sanders Jr. ranks first

This time, while talking with SI, Deion Sanders gave his fans an updated ‘power ranking’ list, which was quite unthinkable. The reason? The love that Deion Sanders has for his daughters. Not that he does not love his sons, Sanders cherishes the soft spot fathers have for their daughters. And he makes it loud and clear with Shelomi Sanders and Deiondra Sanders. In the past, Shelomi, the ‘bossy’, Sanders claimed herself as Coach Prime’s number 1 child. It does seem a safe bet given the playful moments they share.

Yet, Deion Sanders surprised his fans this time by awarding the first place to his son, Deion Sanders Jr. mainly because he is the ‘social media guy’ with whom he has brought great fame for the Buffs this season after his father got angry about the Instagram post thing. And partly because of the heartfelt collage, he gifted Coach Prime. Jr. was followed by ‘bossy’ Shelomi Sanders. Shilo Sanders takes up the third spot “because he was consistently ballin’.” Shedeur Sanders takes up the fourth position, whereas Deiondra Sanders “Bringing up the rear, pretty usual,” as Coach Prime likes to put it.

Clearly, being at the rear end did not sit well with Deiondra Sanders, as she was quick to comment a “Daaang” on the post. Moreover, she also took to her Instagram to write a note. “One day Imma get that number 1 spot watch! Other than on my birthday.” Deiondra is keen on claiming her spot, just like her sister. The competition is tough. However, the Cowboys vs Seahawks game with daddy might have helped her case a bit. The daddy-daughter duo was spotted at the AT&T stadium hours before Deiondra Sanders released her warning. Coach Prime was also sharing Cowboys’ happiness on-field after their 41-35 victory with owner Jerry Jones.
