The world of college football has changed drastically these past few weeks. With the departure of Jim Harbaugh to the NFL in today’s announcement, the fans have seen two of the best coaches of the NCAA leaving the league. Nick Saban announced his retirement from pro football 2 weeks ago. This leaves the third most favorite coach of the fans-Deion Sanders, but can he be the face of college football?

Jim Harbaugh left the Michigan Wolverines after 9 glorious seasons with the team. He will be heading to the NFL to be the head coach for the Las Angeles Chargers. Though this was the right next step for his career, it meant a void for the world of college football as they would lose out on the golden coach. The wound from Saban’s retirement is still fresh and Harbaugh’s transfer will only cut deeper. Now, the fans will look to Coach Prime to step up and try to fill these legends’ shoes as the new poster boy for college football.

On the latest episode of the Jason Whitlock show, the host went ahead with his usual Deion slander yet again. Jason Whitlock is more often than not the number 1 Deion-hater but this time he had the former WR for the Patriots on his side. The segment transitioned to T. J. Moe, giving his opinion on the matter and whether Deion deserves to be the face of college football.

Whitlock first said, “Just deal with the fact that Deion’s the face of college football. But unlike all the previous coaches you better not criticize him or make fun of it.” To this, Moe piled on by saying, “During my college years, Nick Saban won three out of the four national championships, the four years that I was in school but we didn’t think to ourselves that you’re the face of college football or it wasn’t so much about the coaches. It was about the teams and your teammates.”

He further went on to add, “Jim Harbaugh, Nick Saban want nothing to do with this. Gary Pinkle would never coach in this era. You go look at the coaches from 2010. The competitive advantage for being a great coach, somebody who could command a room and teach principles and do everything that a coach once did, that’s all gone now. It’s all about best salesmen and these guys who spent their lives trying to be great football coaches don’t want anything to do with that.”

Thus, Moe took a dig at Deion by saying that as a great coach, he shouldn’t try to focus on being the glorious face of college football, but focus on being the champions. And trying to be champions is exactly what Coach Prime is doing as only recently, he made his team go through a routine of Marine exercises.

Deion Sanders calls on the Marine Corps to help train his team

With the exit of both Harbaugh and Saban, Prime will have an easier upcoming season as the two legends have thrown their hats in the ring. After last season’s disastrous season of 4-8, the Buffs will need to redeem themselves by working harder than ever. To ensure harsh training conditions for the team, Coach Prime arranged for a Marine force session for the team as they put all their blood, sweat, and tears into surviving the challenge.

The training included a 6 am wake-up call, which set the precedent for how the rest of the session would pan out. A pep talk was also seen happen as the players were warned of receiving a “taste of the Marine Corps.” A 45-minute video was released which saw the team going through a rigorous fitness test. All in all, Coach Prime took the training levels to the maximum limit by aiding the help of the toughest of the Marine Corps. The Colorado Buffaloes have never seemed more prepared and the fans are excited to see how the team performs this upcoming season.
