Deion Sanders, coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, is being honored today. The 56-year-old coach has been making the news ever since he debuted with the Buffaloes this season. He has managed to establish himself as one of the most influential coaches in the NCAA with the little time he’s been there.

Coach Prime, as called by fans more often, is an inspirational figure in the history of American sports. Thus, when he came to the NCAA as a head coach, all eyes were on him. While several doubted his capabilities, he proved his value when he led the team to a 3-0 consecutive win at the start of the season. Sanders could very well be the man who could help lead the Buffs’ to a championship this season and he’s only just begun. Deion Sanders is the only player in history to have competed in both the NFL and the MLB league. He was able to conquer accolades in both by winning two Super Bowls and playing the World Series, respectively. So it makes sense as to why he has so many people looking up to him and therefore, so many fans expecting great results from him. Though he is a fabulous coach, his team has been struggling with their recent matches in the league.

The Buffs started off great with a win against the TCU Horned Frogs in their debut game of the season. This set the precedent for the fact that Deion Sanders will be a coach to watch out for. Their winning streak continued for 2 more games until they faced off against the Oregon Ducks, where the Buffs faced a devastating upset by a score of 42-6. Things only got worse as they met with the USC Trojans in a heated tensions match and lost yet again.

But what was interesting was to see how Coach Prime took it all on the chin and told his fans that this was their worst performance so far and that they could expect some major differences in their upcoming games. Even though the Buffs have lost the previous two games of the season, they still have a lot more matches to compensate for and hopefully win the NCAA championship this year.
