Looks like Deion Sanders is not leaving any stone unturned in making sure his team is the best! While there is still a good amount of time, nearly 7 months, to go for the upcoming season, the Colorado Buffs are intensely gearing up toward their redemption arc for the upcoming season already. Coach Prime is the primary source of this undying spirit at Colorado, which he perfectly reflected in the latest episode of Undisputed.

As the 2024 CU Buffs schedule is revealed, Deion Sanders appeared a bit dejected looking at the lineup. Their first showdown is against North Dakota State, followed up by one with Nebraska and then Colorado State. The first two ones were quite daunting for the Buffs last season, especially the one against Nebraska given their rivalry. Hence, Coach Prime wished they would rather have their first clash against the Rams. “Colorado State… shoot, I wish we could start off with that one,” expressed Prime. During their last game, the Colorado Buffs had a swift 43-35 win over the Rams, one of their four victories of the season.

While Coach Prime and Co. did manage to tackle their biggest rivals, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, in week 2 with 32-14, they still cannot underestimate the team. “Nebraska, that’s going to be a good one, they’ve got a great coach,” said Deion Sanders. However, Coach Prime appeared more wary of North Dakota than Nebraska. While the Buffs didn’t clash with North Dakota last season, they will this season. That, along with how well Bubba Schweigert has prepared, the boys was the key factor in doing so “Don’t underestimate North Dakota State,” said Coach Prime firmly. “Those guys come to play and they can play,” further stated Sanders. However, Coach Prime made his choice clear, his first preference being the CU Rams.

Deion Sanders’ jibe at Colorado State

Well, Coach Prime confessed to focusing more on the coaches instead of the teams in the same show. Since 2022, Jay Norvell has led the CU state. Under him, the CU State scored a 5-7 record in 2023, one of the losses being from the CU Buffs. Hence, if given an option, Sanders would rather start with CU State, as it would be an easier clash, per him.

However, the real competition that Coach Prime wants to have for the next season is against the Coaches. ” I’m looking at their coaches, man. They’re well-coached,” stated he. He further mentioned that he is “excited about it”. Hence, with his preferred match-up lined at a third position on the schedule, will Colorado be able to get off to a good start? Only time can tell.
