Is Deion Sanders' son right about the ugly side of college football? What's your take?

Celebrities and fake news are a match made in heaven. This was proven again on 16th July when a random tweet by Polkway claimed, “Just received word that Cormani McClain has been removed from the University of Florida football team… WOW.” This was eventually debunked by Will Harris, DB for the Gators. However, this ain’t the first time this has happened. On X, today 16th July, Deion Sanders, Deion Sanders Jr, and many others joined in on a call to talk about the ugly side of college football.

Sanders Jr. brought a fresh perspective to the entire debate. “You know what I’m saying? A lot of schools be doing that,” is what Bucky claimed. This could directly mean that schools encourage accounts like Polkway or Davin Truth to engage in some sort of controversy to keep the fan base active and engaged. He further stated, “They can’t put it out or they’ll look bad,” pointing to the fact that if schools directly revealed the news related to the removal of players or any other controversial scenario, they could face the wrath of the public.

However, this points to an even bigger issue. Is this whole thing even ethical or is this randomly done to generate hype for players? Further, this ain’t even the first time this has happened this month. Both Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders faced issues with random rumors.

Not the first time

NFL Rookie Watch, a very well-known NFL news page on X posted a tweet on X on 12th July which claimed that Shedeur Sanders wanted to get into teams like Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles for his NFL draft. Shedeur, on the same day, directly claimed “When did I say this.” This was even backed by his father Deion Sanders who took to X and posted, “Please stop lying on us. Show me where @ShedeurSanders said what teams he desired to play for?”

Have an interesting take?

This caused an even bigger backlash from the public who claimed that this entire scenario was preplanned. Also, back in May, a random rumor started going around claiming that Shilo Sanders would be out for the 2024 season because of a shoulder injury. NoSkoZone later debunked the entire thing by stating that the news was false. Even Shilo, in an interview with Brain Howell, said, “I don’t know who wrote that, I’m not missing nothing.” This has been an ongoing issue, be it for the Sanders or McClain. So fans better double-check everything they find on X or someday they might land up on fake news stating that Deion Sanders has decided to quit or something.
