Now that the 2024 season is yet to kick in, the Colorado Buffaloes are already playing it big. After all, it’s Deion Sanders and his faith that Colorado has one of the best receiving corps in the country. Coach Prime could not stop obsessing over his two talents, dual-threat Travis Hunter and WR LaJohntay Wester as they got featured in the Biletnikoff Award watch list. But wait! Where is Shedeur Sanders?

It seems that Deion has decided to snub his son after he became a laughing stock on getting featured beside the two in the College Football Network Preseason All-American.

August 7 was a day of celebration for Deion. The Buffs HC got all hyped up to share the poster featuring his two phenoms, Hunter and Wester on IG. It read, “Biltenikoff Award Watch List” and the text in a smaller font dissected the purpose of the fancy plaque, “The Fred Biletnikoff Award is presented to the most outstanding receiver in American football.” But where is Shedeur in the poster? It seems that Deion is not going to repeat the same mistake.

Poor Shedeur! On August 6, the CU Buffs Football Instagram page dropped a poster featuring the dynamic Buffs trio- Hunter, Wester, and Shedeur Sanders as they landed three different honors. “First team Flex Defense” went to Hunter, and Wester was assigned with the “Second Team Punt Returner” tag. Till this, it was going fine until the attention moved to the Buffs QB. Shedeur was handed with “Honorable Mention Quarterback.” And BOOM! The comment section was filled with hate comments where the CFB fans mentioned that definitely Shedeur deserves due credit, but for, “Honorable mention is NASTY work.” While the QB turned out to be an object of ridicule, Hunter and Wester are soaring high.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Deion Sanders just throw shade at his own son Shedeur by highlighting others' achievements?

Hunter and Wester, the dynamic duo aiming to restore Buffs’ honor

It might be a costly loss for Colorado since Shedeur has been put out of the Biletnikoff watch list, but there are enough reasons for Deion to boast. CU is one of only six schools with two players on the watch list. And guess who is leading the list? Of course, Buffs’ two-way phenom Hunter. This time, 49 players got lucky to get themselves featured with Hunter as the only hybrid player among 45 WRs, two tight ends, and one running back.

Previously too, one of Deion’s primed possessions, the dual-threat has featured in lists like the Walter Camp Award (top player in the country), the Jim Thorpe Award (top defensive back), and the Paul Hornung Award (most versatile player). Why wouldn’t he? After all, he gave his 100% even after surviving an injury that led him to miss out on three games. But that did not stop Huner from stashing up records- 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns.

On the other hand, with the transfer from the Florida Atlantic, Wester is not far behind. The WR created a personal hall of fame by securing 108 catches along with 1,168 yards and eight touchdowns for FAU. Let’s see if Hunter and Wester can save the Buffs’ honor from the Shedeur slip-up!
