Deion Sanders‘ Father’s Day celebration may be full of love from his kids, but it seems Coach Prime has his eyes on a new prize — becoming a grandpa!

June 16 was a day of sweet nostalgia for Deion. His daughter, Deiondra, kick-started the celebrations by sharing a heartfelt note on social media. The post featured a series of heartwarming photos of Deion and his daughter, all smiles and happy. She even included a picture of her siblings, creating a nostalgic family moment.

Deiondra’s Instagram caption read: “Happy Father’s Day daddy! @deionsanders I love you! 🥰 Thank you for always having my back, for always putting me up on game and making me prob one of the most honest women ever! lol LOVE YOU!!! Deion — the always supportive father — couldn’t resist replying to his daughter’s heartfelt social media post. The 56-year-old Buffaloes football coach commented, “Love you OWWA! My Rider. I can’t wait for Lil baby to arrive. Lololol.” Deion’s evident enthusiasm about becoming a grandfather became the main attraction, causing his daughter’s comment section to transform into a countdown for the anticipated arrival of the little one.

However, Deion’s support extends beyond a funny nickname. Since March, he has been a steadfast pillar of support for his daughter after she announced her pregnancy. He’s actively advised her to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the baby’s sake, even cheering her on through social media pregnancy updates. Deion even gave his unborn grandchild a playful nickname — “lil engine.”

Now that the gender reveal is out and the “lil engine” is officially on its way, Deion’s impatience to hold his grandchild in his arms is clear.

Deion Sanders prepares for his “lil engine” grandson

Deion Sanders might have missed his daughter’s gender reveal party on May 18, but that didn’t stop him from celebrating! He joined the post-festive discussion virtually on Well Off Media, where the excitement was quite palpable. As the “TNT” pump exploded with blue smoke, Deion declared, “She’s gonna have a little boy, so the little engine is gonna be a little boy!”

The Colorado Buffaloes head coach has been playfully guessing the baby’s height, even placing bets on whether it would be above or below 5’3″ (considering the parents are just around 5’6″). But Deiondra soon revealed that the baby has “long arms” and seems quite tall in anatomy scans. And now that it’s a boy, Deion’s excitement is through the roof!

“We’ve already signed him up for soccer lessons,” he announced. “We’ve already got him enrolled with some of the best soccer coaches.” Coach Prime seems equally pumped about his new grandson as he is about the upcoming Big 12 season.

Coach Prime’s other kids were not far behind in celebrating Father’s Day. Deion Sanders Jr., Coach Prime’s eldest son, thanked his family on Father’s Day in a poignant Instagram story. Considering the influence of his father and brothers on his life, he was grateful for their guidance and support. “Happy Father’s Day, man. I know you’re probably asleep right now, it’s probably past your bedtime,” Deion Jr. said in the beginning. “I appreciate you, thank you for everything. You changed my life, man, put me in a better position,” Bucky added.

Yeah, but the whole family, me and my brothers, extended family, all my homeboys, everything. Appreciate you, man. Allow me to be up here and helping you write this story of greatness, man. Happy Father’s Day,” he went on.

On the other hand, Shilo surprised Deion with two footballs with the “COWBOYS” logo in a tribute to Coach Prime’s team while he played at the NFL.
