At this point, everyone knows that Deion Sanders and his team are all about the bling and big talks. While the 2024 season is building up to be a year of redemption for Coach Prime, suddenly, he has found himself being haunted by his creation. Amidst RaRa Thomas’s arrest, Kirby Smart was also slapped for brewing a “crime culture” back in Bulldogs. With around 29 total arrests (staff and players combined), Smart had found himself in a tight situation. However, while things have not yet gotten this bad for Coach Prime, how long will it take for it to all fall apart?

Notorious N.I.C. took to X on August 4th to share his concerns regarding the culture back at the Buffs. “I feel bad for Seaton. Nobody deserves that type of treatment,” Notorious wrote in his post. This comes days after media outlets covered that 5-star recruit Jordan Seaton was allegedly asked to “prove his manhood” inside the locker room. Seaton was apparently forced to fight with CU lineman Savion Washington. It was a bloody mess, and people who witnessed the entire thing claimed that it was “two bears scrapping for food.” That ain’t all. There was also an alleged gambling debt between Kaleb Mathis and Colton Allen. After Allen allegedly asked Mathis to pay up around $10K and Mathis refused, he went on to hit Allen multiple times inside the locker room. Could this be something that’s happening because of Coach Prime himself?

Back in September, Jason Whitlock threw a major shade toward Deion. “Deion Sanders is actually insanely insecure,” he had mentioned. According to him, Deion’s habit of wearing gold chains and sunglasses and calling himself “Prime” is just a projection of him being insecure and materialistic. Also, back in April 2023, Zach Courtney pointed out that the staff at CU displayed a strong bias and favored transfers. “None of the new coaches would talk to the old players and treat us the same as the people they brought in,” Courtney had mentioned. Even in March 2023, Anthony “Deuce” Roberson, a former player for the Buffs, was in hot water because of multiple sexual assault allegations. While we are yet to see any comments from Deion regarding the Seaton scene, we cannot deny that this man has given his all for Colorado.

From nothing to something

1-11. That is where the Buffs were before Coach Prime got to take over the team. He went from there to taking the buffs to a 4-8 season in 2023. While he still received major flak from the audience and analysts alike, there was no denying that the team was improving. In his first year of being in Colorado, Deion made the program worth $280 million. Now, the team also has potential No.1 QB Shedeur Sanders and the best college football player, Travis Hunter.

With the changes to the O-line and the addition of players like Will Sheppard, Deion is looking forward to ensuring that this year the team can finally redeem themselves. Even Aaron Torres agreed on this fact back on August 2nd. “People are going to be surprised,” Torres had mentioned. While it is true that Coach Prime still has a lot to figure out when it comes down to the culture at Buffs, fans can rest well knowing that he ain’t gonna sacrifice when it comes down to the playoffs.
