With a lifestyle that seems to be all about flaunting their money, Coach Sanders has blown the whistle against the golden boys, Shedeur and Shilo. In January, a viral video claimed that the three Sanders brothers had bought Deion a really expensive house for when they go to the NFL. Now, Deion has thrown a rock at the glass reality of it all and exposed the truth.
This year will be the last season Coach Prime gets to train his sons in Boulder. It’s looking increasingly likely that both Shilo and Shedeur will be declaring for the NFL Draft after this campaign, hoping to make it a better one than last year’s 4-8 record. But considering that they’ll be moving out of Colorado soon – where Deion Sanders will continue his tenure as the head coach – they wanted to ensure their father had a comfortable time after they joined the NFL. That was what everyone thought. But the truth is out.
Back in January, as a late Christmas present, the three Sanders boys drove Coach Prime to the outskirts of Boulder, surprising with a mansion. The house, complete with a theatre, a climate-controlled wine cellar, an outdoor pool, as well as an unobstructed view of the beautiful Colorado scenery, was estimated to be around $7,00,000. So, when Well Off Media posted a video titled, “DEION SANDERS’ Sons ARE BUYING HIM A NEW HOME IN COLORADO,” everyone believed it. But Coach Prime debunked the news.

In an appearance on the Full Send podcast, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach was asked about his sons’ January purchase. Turns out, there weren’t any signed papers or hands shaken. Sanders said, “They didn’t actually buy the house. We went to check out the house. They didn’t pay for the house.” When one of the hosts mentioned the title of the video, the 56-year-old stated, “Yeah, there’s somebody running with some foolishness. No, my kids, they ain’t ready for that yet. They don’t have that kind of bag yet. That’s another year from now.”
In this age of NIL valuation – where Shedeur Sanders has the highest valuation per On3 right now ($4.6 million) and Shilo Sanders lots in at 18th ($1.1 million) – it wasn’t out of the question that they could afford a house for their old man. In fact, when they went to check out the mansion, Deion Sanders had a few almost-emotional words to say, too, which made it all the more believable.
“My three sons had the thought process that they wanted me to see this just so you’ll make sure I’m straight when y’all gone. That’s unbelievable,” he said. “It almost provokes a tear. My three sons want to do this for me, wow. This is awesome.” That’s when Shedeur said, “Your life’s complete now, man.” As heartwarming as that exchange was between Sanders and his sons, Coach Prime didn’t take his eyes off the prize. Shaking his head, he said, “We’ve got to win. That’s when it’s complete.”

That’s another avenue where Shilo and Shedeur are – albeit inadvertently – helping out Deion Sanders. Especially considering the mass exodus the Buffaloes have seen in this off-season, with more than 40 players entering the transfer portal.
Shilo and Shedeur are major recruiters for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes
Deion Sanders has shown an admirable amount of faith in his sons both on and off the field. While he holds phenomenal power in the history of the sport, Shedeur and Shilo’s social media influence stretches far and wide, even surpassing that of Coach Prime. After a spring practice session, Coach Prime talked about how much power both his sons hold when it comes to recruiting new players.

He said, “I think the most prominent players at every program are probably your best recruiters. I wish you could have a conversation with Shedeur and just tell him to just show you his [direct messages] one time. You would not believe the kids that call him and call Shilo because they’re high-profile young men. That’s how the recruiting thing works – for real, [it] is players. They know who the dogs are and who the cats are.”
This is going to be the last season that the sons play for their father’s program on the field, and thus, this season is going to be extra special for Buffs fans who will be seeing both Shedeur and Shilo in Colorado jerseys for the last time.
