On his special day, father and coach Deion Sanders took to Instagram to not only share an adorable video of the young quarterback but might also upset his list of favorites amongst his children. In the Sanders household, the competition to win Coach Prime‘s favor is a constant battle among the siblings.

Shedeur Sanders may excel on the field, but Deion Sanders isn’t easily swayed by popularity alone when it comes to ranking his favorite child. There are unique qualities about each of his children that only Coach Prime understands, and while Shedeur may dominate on the football field, Shilo Sanders holds a special place in his father’s heart off the field.

Shedeur becomes Coach Prime’s favourite 

Shedeur’s emergence as a rising star in college football may just be the catalyst needed to regain his father’s attention. As the youngest son of Deion Sanders, Shedeur is already making waves and carving out a name for himself in the world of collegiate athletics. In his birthday post dedicated to Shedeur, Coach Prime unapologetically addresses him as his, “FAVORITE SON!” and states that he is more proud of the man he has become, “I’m more proud of the Man U are rather than the Athlete u are.” However, this has not always been the case.

Coach Prime once revealed on The Rich Eisen Show that his favorite son at the moment is Shilo Sanders, citing his stellar performance and exemplary behavior. However, Coach Prime expressed disappointment in Shedeur Sanders, describing him as not “son-ning” properly and sometimes acting as if he’s the father. Shedeur’s desire for independence, such as wanting his own house during family vacations, has strained his relationship with his father. Shedeur’s disinterest in his father’s Blender sunglasses venture and his pursuit of his own ventures, like becoming the face of a video game, have further contributed to the rift between them.

Deion Sanders updates Power Rankings

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Deion Sanders, known for his outspoken demeanor, revisited his ranking of favorite children, revealing notable shifts in the lineup. Shilo Sanders, displaying consistent performance, made a significant leap to claim the No. 3 spot in the updated list, showcasing his prowess on the field. Deion Jr. retained the top position, followed by Shelomi “Bossy” Sanders at No. 2. Shedeur Sanders, formerly in third place, now occupies the fourth spot, while Deiondra Sanders remains at No. 5.

This reshuffling reflects Shilo’s commendable efforts despite the Buffaloes’ challenging season, where they concluded with a 4-8 record after a promising start under Coach Prime. Shilo’s impressive stats, including 70 total tackles and an interception, earned him recognition from his father, underscoring his rising prominence in the family rankings.
