August 9 isn’t just Deion Sanders’ birthday. It’s also the day he became a grandfather and also the day he took a swing at two reporters during a Colorado football press conference. First, he slammed Eric Christensen of CBS and refused to answer his questions despite him being a local, saying, “You are who you are. CBS is CBS… What they did was foul.” But CBS isn’t the only one snubbed by Deion Sanders on Friday.
Sean Keeler of the Denver Post also got a sting from Deion Sanders. When he asked the Buffs head coach football questions, Sanders waved his greeting aside, saying, “You don’t like us, man, why do you do this to yourself… You’re always on the attack. What did we do? What happened?” This rendered Keeler speechless as Deion Sanders gave him a therapy session. He added, “I want to help because it’s not normal.” If you haven’t grasped the backstory behind the tense exchange, hear it from Deion Sanders’ confidant, Christopher Neely, aka Uncle Neely.
On August 12, Thee Pregame Show Network uploaded a YouTube episode to discuss the minor beef with Deion Sanders and Sean Keeler. Uncle Neely explained the rub, saying, “I think the rub is just it’s enough is enough… It’s really a Sean Keeler issue… since we have been in Boulder, Colorado, going on 18 months now, every time question from him, every time there is a response from him, it always has a negative slant or pushing toward an attack.”

Sean Keeler is a regular at Colorado’s press conferences. But according to Uncle Neely, “He’s there as an antagonist. He’s not really there in support of Coach Prime or the program or to get the truth out.” Instead, he collects information to twist it into mundane narratives that put Deion Sanders and Colorado in a poor light. And Keeler apparently knows he’s earned this treatment from Coach Prime.
Sean Keeler reviews his scene with Deion Sanders
Following the conference fiasco, Keeler took his platform and revealed his thoughts. Keeler knew this was coming for him after calling Deion Sanders derogatory terms like “false prophet” and “Bruce Lee of BS,” among other blows. He said, “I’ve taken my swings at the pinata. Friday was Prime’s turn, and he didn’t miss. I had it coming, as the old song from ‘Chicago’ goes. That’s fine.”
However, Keeler viewed Christensen as not deserving the sting from Deion Sanders. “But Christensen? Channel 4? A media partner? The station that outbid its peers to host Prime’s local coach’s show?” he said. “This was another side of Deion we’d heard about but hadn’t really seen yet: Biting one of the hands that actually pays him.” Perhaps Deion Sanders has a grudge against CBS for some things, including Shilo Sanders’ bankruptcy filing. Do you think he’s fair for snubbing CBS and Denver Sports? Or do you think he’s gone too far? Do comment on your thoughts.
