Jason Whitlock approves Deion Sanders' efforts—Is this a turning point for the Hall of Fame?

Oh, how the tides turn! The once die-hard critic of Deion Sanders, who hardly ever thought of something from Sanders as revolutionary, let alone applause-worthy, has now splurged on some words of appreciation for him. Deion Sanders has called out the selection process at HoF, which will not, per Whitlock’s words, “let in undeserving players/coaches.”

Taking to his X, Whitlock wrote, “In addition, I’d like to thank Deion Sanders for leading the charge on forcing this change. I have to give credit where credit is due. Deion improved the Hall of Fame by putting his foot down and kicking off a discussion. I’ve been complaining about Canton since 2006 when Harry Carson complained his way into the Hall. A few years ago, Drew Pearson cried his way in. Enough is enough.

Deion Sanders has been at it! In 2022, Sanders started complaining about the faulty selection process in the Hall of Fame. “The Hall of Fame ain’t the Hall of Fame no more,” Sanders said. “This thing is becoming a free for all. If you play good, no! It’s people that changed the game. That’s what the Hall of Fame is; a game changer.” Sanders said, stating that he earned his jacket after a legendary NFL career, and was induced after hard work, not some tears.

“My head don’t belong with some of these other heads that’s in the Hall of Fame. My jacket’s [Hall of Fame] gotta be a different color,” Sanders said, indirectly dissing the Hall of Fame and everyone like Harry Carson and Drew Pearson, as Whitlock mentioned. All of this did one good thing. Earned Deion Sanders some much-needed credit from one of his biggest haters.

The love-hate saga between Deion Sanders and Jason Whitlock

Jason Whitlock has not missed a single chance of dissing Deion Sanders whenever a controversy unfolded around him, which, frankly, is quite often. Right from the losing 4-8 season at Colorado to everything off-season, Whitlock has not spared Deion Sanders and Co. from any angle any time.

Have an interesting take?

Even when it came to his sons, especially Shilo Sanders, losing the assault and battery case, Whitlock seized the opportunity. Whitlock went to the extent of inviting the victim of Shilo’s assault, Jean Darjean, on his show to unveil the truth, exposing Deion Sanders and his son Shilo.

It was a dropped bomb on the Sanders as people criticized them with their hearts. This is why praise from Whitlock, even saying anything remotely positive for Deion Sanders, is a huge thing for Deion Sanders.
