Home/NFL

“AB was on his way to being one of the best to ever play,” Deion Sanders said, with a bittersweet smile. He knew too, just like thousands of other fans, that it was a feast for the eyes to witness Antonio Brown play. It was at that one moment that Brown’s priorities started leaning more towards the off-field things, diverting him from the game when everything went left for him. It was at the same time that Brown’s chance at being enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame went down the drain.

On his appearance on his show with Routegod, Deion Sanders opened up on why AB won’t be enshrined in the NFL HoF alongside him. “It was no Cosmetics,” Sanders said, laughing, stating a matter-of-fact. Of course, it wasn’t. After all, we’re talking 928 catches for 12,291 yards, 88 touchdowns, along with 187 punt returns for 1,761 yards people. The WR was made to etch history. Looking at his records then, people thought that this history would be in football. Little did they know it would be for posting memes on X.

“It’s just off-the-field stuff,” the host added, defining Sanders’ point further. Antonio Brown’s meme-making skills have emerged as the talk of the town. Targeting various celebrities is now a staple in Brown’s ‘cracker of the day’ theme. Online arrestment allegations have made their way to the list of the allegations against him. While his inspiration behind pulling such vile stunts remains a mystery, Brown’s inspiration behind fashion is something people can not criticize him for.

Deion Sanders was AB’s fashion icon

While Sanders might have accepted that Brown was not getting a position in the Hall of Fame anytime soon, he still appreciated him for all that he had given to football. Sanders expressed his appreciation for Brown on the podcast, chiming in with his praise, saying, “That’s my dog too. I love him the life.”

Brown, too, didn’t hold back in praising Deion Sanders. For Brown, Sanders has always been a fashion icon, apparent from his not shying away from flexing his jewelry. “For you to be the best, you gotta look the best, you gotta feel the best,” Brown said during his appearance in Tyreek Hill’s podcast.

Some of my idols was like Deion Sanders. I watch him catch like a helicopter or a jet to play professional baseball and go down as the best receiver,” Brown confessed. What do you think Brown has learned from Prime? Drop your thoughts on the topic.
