Deion Sanders bounces back with a fishing win—Is this the resilience that makes him a legend?

Deion Sanders has shunned haters! Or, at least those who question his fishing talents, so much so that after being outplayed by his dual threat, Travis Hunter, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach thought it wise to swap his fishing partner! This time, the Colorado grad assistant, Warren Sapp, found himself lucky to be Sanders’ fishing mate. Maybe Coach Prime is still recovering from the debacle on July 5, where Hunter was more successful than Deion. And guess what happened at the end? To hide from further embarrassment, Coach Prime started jokingly looking for his mom!

Before this season kicks in, Deion seems to soak in some no-stress vibes. Accompanying him is Sapp, and the duo was spotted by a lake. Every day, Coach Prime is evolving as a master of the hook-and-line game. As he reeled a whopper, he shared it with his fans on his Instagram post on July 7. Scoring a big one and posing with it, showing his signature ear-to-ear broad smile of accomplishment, he thanked Sapp for accompanying him for fishing, “Great day of Catching with @warrensapp & his incredible friends!” Deion showed off his hefty haul in the same post: “Fish I caught was the Bomb…the was the biggest Blue gill/PeaCock Bass combo I’ve ever seen.”

It was not only Coach Prime; Sapp snapped a giant, too. Being a huge Deion fan, he knew how to brag about his fishy conquest. In the video that the Buffs HC posted on July 6, Sapp pulled out a teasing jab at their biggest off-field competitor, Hunter. The Colorado grad assistant happily claimed, “That’s a monster right there! Where ya at, Travis? Ya’ll say I don’t fish on the bank? Yeah, I do!” Oh no! Did fishing lead to Deion and Sapp teaming up against their Buffs’ dual threat? Oops! It’s not dual anymore if his fishing skills are counted.

Deion Sanders’ fishing misadventures

Hunter and Deion’s outing on July 5 went awry for the Buffs coach. While seeking respite, Coach Prime drove Hunter to Lake Prime for a fishing stint. But he definitely must have regretted it later. As the duo hopped on a boat and cruised across the lake, it was one lucky day for the Buffs two-way star. Hunter caught hold of some fish with every passing minute as he dunked his fishing rod in the water like a magic wand.

Even though Deion did not give up on his hopes, as time went by, Coach Prime soon had to accept Hunter’s talent off the field. As the Buffs player kept on hitting the jackpot and reeling in big catches one after the other, Deion was left heartbroken. The final score, as displayed on the video Hunter posted from his YouTube channel, was Hunter: 10, Deion: 3!

Have an interesting take?

Deion had nowhere to hide his face as they were pinned on the boat. He came up with his comical plea, “I want my mom!” But it’s high time Travis was warned as Coach Prime gradually started getting “pro” at fishing. Besides, now that he has found another fishing companion, Sapp, if they team up against Hunter, it will surely give him a tough time!
