Deion’s legacy with the Colorado Buffaloes is in question. More often than not, his coaching strategies and tactics are put to the stand, but never his loyalty to the team since he’s been all in about the Buffs since day 1. Even though he could’ve easily joined the NFL with his reputation and the fact that he’s a Hall of Famer, he chooses to be a coach for the Colorado Buffaloes and yet, Finebaum seems to think differently.

Deion Sanders only started coaching in college 4 years ago when he debuted with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After 2 seasons with the team, he and his two sons came to Colorado to try their luck out with the men in black and golden, and since then, he’s become one of the most popular figures in the community. Contradicting his loyalty to the Buffaloes, Finebaum recently shared his opinion on how Deion doesn’t have the patience to make it to the College Playoffs. Well, the joke’s on him since Deion had already spoken about staying in Colorado for a long time, and how he has no plans to leave for the NFL or any other team anytime soon.

Despite the roaring critique of Paul Finebaum, Deion Sanders’ words of the past already contradict the opinions of the analysts about how he will be impatient to leave Boulder. Finebaum has been on the case of Colorado and Deion for quite a long time now but in his recent appearance on the SEC Network, he bashed the worth of Colorado in the Big-12 league and also assured the fans that Deion won’t be staying in Colorado for long enough to win a national championship.

In one of the videos from the Well Off YouTube channel, Deion was asked about whether he had any plans to follow his sons to the NFL and his response was, “I lead my kids; I don’t follow my kids,” Sanders said then. “So I do not plan on following my kids to the NFL.” Also, the title of the video stated, “Coach Prime Says He’ll be at CU for at least 10 Years,” which since it was written by his son, holds a lot of precedence over the predictions of Paul Finebaum, regardless of his vendetta against Coach Prime and the popularity of Colorado. Moreover, as his loyalty is put to the test, Deion shares his feelings on how he wants people to remember him as Coach Prime rather than his famous persona as an NFL player, ‘Prime Time’.

There have been several instances in the past where Deion has stated how passionate he is about coaching college players. Additionally, he even went on to talk about his preference for college football players over NFL players since they are hungry for success and glory rather than professional players who surround themselves with an environment of money and elite teams.

With more and more of a captivating audience following his every move, Deion now takes pride in the fact that the newer generation is now knowing him for his status as a coach rather than a player who was a legendary cornerback. His statement was, “And it’s getting to that point now like some people, especially kids, they don’t know me as Prime the football player Primetime. They know me as Coach Prime and I like that because a coach has this connotation man that he’s helping you get to where you need to go to and he’s like a live navigational system.” Thus, Deion wants to continue to be a navigational system for college players and their path to the NFL, come what may or what the stinging words of Paul Finebaum are about his patience.
