While the entire world of college football continues to hate on the youngster, Cormani McClain has one supporter to gain. It’s almost ironic how the son of the HC for Colorado Buffaloes, the team that McClain talked trash about a few months ago, is one of the very few ones giving him advice and praising him.

Cormani McClain, the cornerback for the Florida Gators, is on the front page news at the moment for all the wrong reasons. A rumor spread around on 16th July that stated McClain had been removed from the team over behavioral issues. While the rumor has been proven to be false by the Gators’ coach, Mike Harris, the name of McClain is being discussed at great lengths as to how his future looks like. Amid all this, Bucky continues to not hold a grudge against him and gives him solid advice for his future.

During a live X session, Bucky and a few of his friends were seen discussing Cormani’s tumultuous situation in Florida and figuring out where his sense of entitlement stems from. While other members in the live video were quick to fire at Cormani McClain’s mother for making him too privileged of a player, Bucky came to his support and offered the player valuable advice, along with complimenting his character.

Bucky was asked about what would make McClain a good player and he responded with, “Honestly, he just got to care about this s** bro. I guess he is a good kid, he just got to care about this s**. You got to understand that’s the reason you’re here. You not here for any other reason. That’s the reason you here. So that’s all it is. How much he care about it.” These words from Bucky do hold a lot of value since if a football player doesn’t really want to pour his heart and soul out into the green field of the gridiron, then it might be the wrong career prospect, anyway. While the topic of Cormani’s love for football seems to be in the headlines, let’s take a look at how he performed for Colorado during his freshman year.

The talented cornerback, who weighed in at 165 pounds and stood tall at a height of 6 feet 2 inches, didn’t get to show his abilities to the fullest, but he sure showed great signs to fill out the shoes of Travis Hunter as a starting CB for Colorado someday. McClain played in 9 games and started in 4. He recorded a total of 13 tackles, including six unassisted, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups. Though his freshman year wasn’t as impressive, his high school rankings certainly shattered the glass ceiling.

As per the 247 Composite, they ranked McClain as the number 2 overall prospect in the class at .9974, making him the top-ranked cornerback and the number 1 player from Florida. Additionally, ESPN listed him at the 4th position on the ESPN300 list and ranked the CB as the number 3 prospect in the nation. The lists of awards and honors for McClain are lengthy but the way he chooses to act outside the gridiron and in the locker room will dictate how the course of his future as a player will be. McClain needs to pull his act together and become the fantastic generational talent that he’s already predicted to be, since his reputation with both Colorado and Florida looks to be hanging by a thread at the moment.
