In Boulder, discipline is as important as the game itself. It’s crucial for the revamped Colorado Buffaloes roster to familiarize themselves with coach Deion Sanders’ code of conduct while the returning players refresh their knowledge. The previous class faced scrutiny from Coach Prime due to their misconduct, emphasizing the significance of adhering to the code.
But this time, the Buffs HC will not accept any nonsense from the players. Hence, from the very beginning, Deion Sanders explained to them carefully what he expected and gave them a rundown of the points on which respecting women and following discipline top the list.

Physical talents and gridiron performance do not make you a good Buff. Deion Sanders is very particular about how his players behave both on-field and off-field; hence, from the beginning, he has given his revamped roster a clear picture of what the Buffs HC demands from them. In Deion Sanders’ code of conduct blueprint, respect toward the opposite gender is crucial for the players. As Coach Prime pointed out, “We want to respect all women. We have some wonderful women in this program and we’re going to always call them Miss and then their name and yes ma’am and no ma’am… do not call them about their name.”
His conduct checklist also emphasized team building as a part of consolidating rigor. To keep the players less distracted and more interested in knowing each other, Sanders came up with a master plan. He informed the players, “I want y’all to talk and get to know each other all right so we catch you on the phone in the cafeteria we putting you out…put a bowl in the middle of each table so we can put the phone in the bowl.” Is this an attempt to whitewash the previous misconduct incidents in which the Buffs roster engaged?

Coach Prime’s wake-up call after disrespect in Buffs classroom
Last season, Deion Sanders received a letter from a professor. To his surprise, Coach Prime found that it was not any letter of appreciation but a complaint. A part of the letter read, “I have never felt so disrespected in my ten years teaching… students do not follow even minimally and it slows down my class so much. They make it clear they do not want to be there.” It was then Deion Sanders’ turn to expose the players to the harsh reality.

The coach refuses to take risks since the Buffaloes are entering Big 12 this year. He took a class with the players, enlightening them about the etiquette in the classroom. He started, “You present, but you ain’t really there. You on the field, but you ain’t really doing nothing… Got a lot of ability, but no darn talent because you don’t think.” So, all that Sanders wants from the players is to give their minds and hearts to the program.
Deion Sanders has recently been the target of a lot of negative talks, particularly after the exit of Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith. Now that he has a newly formed roster, Coach Prime leaves no stone unturned in his attempt to train the players with sternness.
