Former NBA-star, Nate Robinson’s 19-year-old son, Nahmier Robinson has been one of the new faces in the Colorado Buffaloes squad. As his son has entered the tutelage of Deion Sanders, Nate recently shared his views on his son being coached by his most ‘favorite player ever’.
Even though the cornerback received invitations from the University of Washington and Portland State, he went for the Colorado Buffaloes. His choice of joining the Buffaloes is highly reliant on Sanders’ role as a mentor, as he said “I want to play for the best because Coach Prime is the GOAT, so I just want to play for somebody as special as him.”

The first generation of the Robinsons witnessed Jacque achieving the remarkable feat of acquiring the MVP title in both the Rose Bowl (1982) and Orange Bowl (1985). The second-generation legacy was carried forward by Nate by securing a three-time championship in the NBA Dunk Contest. As the third generation unfolds, Nahmier Robinson is coached by none other than Sanders to which, Nate shared his views with Fox News, “It’s been a blessing. He’s learning a lot, he’s becoming a student of the game, which I wanted for him – to learn from the best and be coached by the best, and my favorite player ever to ever put on some cleats. He’s my all-time favorite. I wore No. 2 because of him. I always wanted to go to Florida State, but I ended up going to [Washington].”
Taking the field for the Buffaloes in the Pac-12, the Buffaloes signed up Robinson in June last year. Nahmier held the No.205 rank among the cornerbacks within the country. As per the data restricted to Washington, his rank is No.48 among the players. In order to propel his son to greater success, Nate holds towering faith in Coach Prime.
