Shedeur Sanders’ demands from his father, Deion have finally come true as this newest prospect announces his decision to commit to the Colorado Buffaloes. The quarterback had requested Coach Prime to recruit the youngster a while back and he’ll be very happy with the newest addition to the squad. Furthermore, with more and more talents arriving at Colorado, it seems as if Coach Prime is on a mission to revamp the squad and it’s working well so far.

The Colorado Buffaloes didn’t have the best season this year with their poor record of 4-8. Even though Deion managed to bring about a massive change from the 2022 record of 1-11, the fans expected a lot more from the veteran Super Bowl winner. With players like Jordan Seaton, Quency Wiggins, and more expected to join soon, Deion has added yet another player to the mix that is sure to change the trajectory of the team’s performance.

On 9th January, LaJohntay Wester announced his decision to commit to the Colorado Buffaloes and the fans couldn’t be more excited. The WR for the Florida Atlantic Owls will be headed to play under Coach Prime’s team in the next season. Before the announcement, Shedeur had requested Deion to sign Wester and it looks like his wish has finally come true. In response to his announcement, Shedeur took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to wish his congratulations to Wester.

Shedeur reposted Wester’s post and wrote, “Legendary 🧑‍🍳” With Shedeur on the QB end and Wester as the WR, it’s evident that the Buffs’ offense will be a sight to see next season as this dynamic duo waits to light the field on fire with their performance. Coach Prime continues to draw in more and more talented athletes in this transfer portal and it’ll be interesting to see who signs up next. But with all that said, here’s a look on how the signing of Wester will impact the team.

How important would LaJohntay Wester be for the Colorado Buffaloes?

The Colorado Buffaloes had a tough time last season trying to protect the quarterback, Shedeur, from the rival teams’ offense. He got sacked multiple times through many games and even had to be treated medically for his injuries. Even with Travis Hunter being on the team, he couldn’t make an impact on the team’s overall performance after being injured from a malicious tackle by a CSU Rams defender. As such, the Buffs must get a new reliable WR who is quick on his feet and someone that Shedeur can bank on to receive the pass.

Wester’s stats in the 2023 season have been nothing short of astonishing. In 2023, Wester had a career season with 108 catches for 1,168 yards, which was the most receiving yards in the AAC this past season. Thus, with his recent announcement to be a part of Coach Prime’s squad, it’s evident that his career is set to boom and hopefully, he can be one of the driving forces behind Colorado’s redemption shot next season.
