Deion Sanders’ daughter Shelomi Sanders is a familiar face in the Buffs women’s basketball team. The young guard didn’t get to play much this season. She only suited up for five games and spent a short time on the court, just 11 minutes. Despite that, she was a great teammate to the Buffs. She helped the team by scoring some points, grabbing rebounds, and cheering them on during their big wins.

It seems a hard decision, but Shelomi Sanders has left the team to join a different program. She recently said a tearful goodbye on social media; her mom even showed her support in the comments.

Recently, Shelomi Sanders, aka “Bossy,” announced her decision to leave CU Buffs on Instagram via a heartwarming post. She expressed “thanks” to her fans, family, and the Buffs for their support, captioning her post as “Blessings.” She also informed everyone that she’s decided to enter the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining. Meanwhile, her mother, Pilar Sanders, responded to it with heartfelt encouragement — “YOU GOTTA PUT YOU FIRST BABY!”

This comment from Deion Sanders’ ex-wife shows that her family always has her back. This will probably help her find a new basketball team with more play opportunities. However, it’s still a mystery why she left the Buffs.

Shelomi and the team built a firm foundation during the regular season, earning an impressive 21-8 record. This further pushed them into both the Pac-12 and NCAA tournaments. They also made a strong showing in the Pac-12, reaching the quarterfinals. They started the Pac tournament with a historic 49-point win over the Oregon Ducks. They continued this streak even in the NCAA tournament by winning over Kansas State and Duke. Unfortunately, their winning streak ended with a narrow 68-69 loss to Caitlin Clark’s team in the Sweet 16. Now, we’ll have to wait and see if Shelomi’s new team will offer her the playing time she seeks to showcase her skills. Till then, share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
