Deion Sanders is officially a proud grandpa! The Buffaloes HC announced the arrival of his first grandchild, “Baby Que,” to the world this Friday. Meanwhile, his ex-wife Carolyn Chambers, stood by her daughter, Deiondra Sanders, throughout the entire process.

Carolyn had been eagerly anticipating the birth and had already packed her bags to be with Deiondra on August 9th. As the big day approached, Deiondra and her beau, Jacquees, prepared for the hospital. Jacquees captured those raw emotions of the moment in a mini vlog, and it was impossible to miss Carolyn’s overwhelming joy.

In a video posted on Deiondra Sanders’ YouTube channel, Jacquees asked Carolyn her “final thoughts” before they left for the hospital. With tears in her eyes, the new grandma admitted, “I’m excited, I’m overjoyed. I can’t talk cuz I’m gonna cry.”  

Now Carolyn Chambers is the real MVP here — the backbone of this whole operation. Well, Deiondra’s pregnancy journey wasn’t a walk in the park. It was more like a marathon with hurdles. Multiple myomectomy surgeries, and a battle with chronic fibroids—Deiondra faced it all. And who was right there, cheering her on? Yep, Carolyn. She wore her ‘daunting mom hat’ and stood by her daughter’s side through every ultrasound and every kick. 

Fast-forward to the big day. The little bundle of joy, weighing in at approximately 6 pounds arrived this Friday. And Grandma Carolyn couldn’t contain herself. She even took to her Insta story, sharing sweet and adorable pics from the day, captioning, “God, I thank you!!” 

While Deion Sanders may not have been physically present, his heart seems undoubtedly with his daughter! 

Deion Sanders gets a birthday to remember

Deion Sanders has been eagerly waiting for this big moment for a while. At first, he felt too young to be a grandpa, but the 57-year-old Coach Prime quickly embraced the role. Initially, he even made playful bets about the baby’s height, calling him ‘lil engine.’ When the anatomy scans showed long limbs, Deion proudly claimed the Sanders genes were strong. He’s been excited about the baby’s arrival ever since, even jokingly saying he’s already signed the baby up for “soccer lessons.”

But here’s the surprising part—Deion actually predicted the arrival date of his first grandchild! On June 21st, he posted a photo on Instagram, sitting between his quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders, and daughter, Deiondra. With that, he wrote, “She gone show that lil baby off @deiondrasanders. It’s almost time and how about she told me the baby is due on my birthday!” And guess what? Deiondra gave birth exactly on August 9th—Deion’s birthday! “Do you understand how beautiful that is?” Deion shared his joy with the media while announcing the happy news.

With the Sanders clan celebrating, all that’s left for Deion now is to channel this positivity into winning the title. Can proud grandpa make it happen?
