Festival fun takes a turn for Deiondra Sanders!  She might have an unexpected encounter with a familiar face at the ESSENCE Festival. Entering the 3oth week of her pregnancy, Deion Sanders’ daughter is making a glamorous appearance at the ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans. She sported a chic black dress that flatters her baby bump and turned heads on the red carpet alongside her boyfriend Jacquees. The R&B star, too, was decked out in a blinged-out black outfit with a leather jacket, all set to light up the stage.

The soon-to-be mommy wasn’t there just for some fun, though. She was spotted cheering Jacquees on during his performance during the big fest night and enjoying the event with philanthropist Melonie Jackson. Amidst all the glitz and glam, however, one familiar face was missing from her social feeds. It’s her dad Deion’s ex, Tracey Edmonds, who confirmed she would be at the 30th ESSENCE Fest.

Tracey Edmonds has been having a blast in New Orleans with her “eternal sister-in-law,” Marsha Lurry, as seen in her back-to-back Instagram stories. Now, we haven’t seen Tracey Edmonds on the red carpet yet. But with the ESSENCE Festival lasting a whole week, there’s a chance they might bump into each other anytime soon, thus leaving all eyes locked on their social profiles. 

While Deion and his ex called off their engagement last year on amicable terms, they haven’t exactly been spotted socializing with each other’s families.

This year, the BET Awards saw them express contrasting views online, sparking speculation.

The BET Awards leave Deiondra Sanders feeling disappointed

The July 2024 BET Awards also got the attention of both Deiondra Sanders and Tracey Edmonds. Looking glamorous in a bright blue dress, Tracey documented her fun night at the awards. During the big event, she even posted a congratulatory story for Usher’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Deiondra, however, didn’t like the award show. Neither she nor her R&B boyfriend, Jacquees, received invites. Taking to social media, Deiondra vented her frustration.

Reminding everyone of Jacquees’ long-standing friendship with Usher, she questioned why only female artists were chosen to honor him. “This didn’t make sense,” Deiondra wrote, adding a series of frustrated messages. “The women sound good, but why did they choose all women to honor Usher?” she posted on her X handle. She stressed her thoughts by adding, “They should have had my man up there for the Usher tribute.”

Meanwhile, Tracey Edmonds seemed blissfully unaware (or perhaps unbothered) of the drama. Her social media reflected a night of pure joy, showing no concern for whatever was happening in the Sanders family.
