Deion Sanders is trying to build a robust and spirited team as he revamps the Colorado Buffaloes roster. With numerous players coming in and leaving Boulder, bonding time seemed essential. Thus, the Buffs recently went on a fun team-building retreat with activities like fishing and archery. The entire team participated, including star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, two-way phenom Travis Hunter, and other Buffs players.
Deion Sanders Jr. documented the day’s events as usual, capturing everything for his “Well Off Media.” However, in a surprising turn of events, coach Deion Sanders revealed that the team’s effort was actually lacking when it came to fishing. While addressing Jaylen Wester’s excuses for the loss, he pointed out that only four players, including star player Travis Hunter, actually went angling.

Deion Sanders Jr. caught candid moments after the Colorado Buffaloes‘ fishing trip. Linebacker Jaylen Wester, who didn’t catch a fish, blamed the wind and his casting. “Today was a rough day, bro,” Wester said. “It was kinda windy. Couldn’t really get the right cast out,” he said, downcast. However, Wester tried a positive spin, adding, “Cheering up my teammates, you know? Gotta show resilience, man. I’m just being a team player, you know.”

Meanwhile, stars like Travis Hunter, Camron Silmon-Craig, and Samuel Okunlola proudly announced their fishing victories as each caught one. Wester, trying to stay upbeat, said, “I didn’t win, but my teammates did!” Only these four players actively tried to participate as Deion Sanders shared candid clips on social media, captioning “I think it’s just you” and tagging the four. While most of the team’s absence seems a little fishy, Coach Prime’s skipping his favorite hobby is still a bigger mystery.

There’s no doubt that Deion Sanders, being a Florida man, has some impressive catching skills. He even has a water body named after him – “Lake Prime.” Deion’s passion for fishing has rubbed off on his players, especially star player Travis Hunter. Recently, Hunter showed off his skills by catching a massive 10-pound bass, even playfully challenging Coach Prime to do better. Soon, a friendly competition took place between them, with Deion responding with a big catch of his own. Deion joked, “Really thinks he [Travis Hunter] can beat me in fishing?”
Their playful rivalry off the field has been a fun sight for fans. That’s why it was surprising that Coach Prime wasn’t there for the recent team fishing trip. Maybe with some coaching from Deion, even Jaylen Wester could have gone beyond just being a “team player” and caught some fish. While Deion was busy organizing the other team activities, Hunter & Co. seemed to miss having their “Fishing Coach” there.
