Miami Dolphins have made a bold move by pulling former Ravens’ associate HC into the fold as their defensive coordinator. 44-year-old Anthony Weaver promises to inject fresh vigor into the Dolphins’ defensive prowess, but things do not sound well with the Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders had earlier vied for Weaver by announcing his name as their top pick. However, things did not go as planned for Colorado. For Coach Prime, Weaver was the top pick with extensive coaching experience in the NFL. Unfortunately, as Buffaloes pursued a swift solution in Weaver, it was the Dolphins who succeeded in claiming his commitment.

Weaver brings with him a wealth of experience and a track record of success. His trajectory in coaching spans 12 seasons in the NFL, including his stints with the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Texans and Ravens. However, it was only with the Ravens, serving as the assistant HC that his coaching prowess gained momentum. He joined Baltimore as the run game coordinator/defensive line coach in 2021, and the very next year he ascended to the role of assistant head coach.

In Miami, Weaver inherits a talented defense that under the guidance of Vic Fangio and Josh Boyer achieved its first top-10 finish. However, after a short-term commitment, the Dolphins decided to part ways with Fangio last weekend which marked the beginning of a new era. At this crucial moment, Weaver steps in as the third DC in as many seasons under the mentorship of HC Mike McDaniel. In some other news, while Dolphins celebrate the entry of their new recruitment, for the Buffaloes the situation is of stark contrast.

Ever since, Colorado’s DC, Charles Kelly had bid farewell after only one season with Buffaloes, Sanders has emerged himself in the search for an alternative. Kelly’s departure added to the off-season coaching shakeup for the Buffaloes, with five coaches already leaving. As a result of this, a few days back, Deion Sanders in an interview with Undisputed, promised to announce a DC within 24-48 hours.

On Disputed, Coach Prime had laid down his wishes saying, “I want a pro guy that can teach and instruct at another level that’s what we have on the offense. That’s what we pretty much have on the whole d*** staff um is guys that have taught and played the pro game because that’s where these guys are headed and I want to give them the navigational system to get there but I’m excited about the season key and I feel like we uh we have everything we need to be successful”.
