The regular season buzz is returning. In early January, the game schedules were released. Now in late May, the kickoff times and the television channels for the first games of the season are released. The demand for October 29 is soaring high. But Colorado being an A-team in the rating game has secured a massive win, a slot on NBC network for their first clash against North Dakota. But isn’t that a win-win for both North Dakota and Nebraska?

There were no filters, no sugarcoating, no indirect messages. Just facts and a slight preference for Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders. Not for Uncle Nelly. On The Pregame Network, Uncle Nelly hardly stuttered when hailing the feature on ABC as just Deion Sanders’. “Nebraska, they’re on that TV because they’re playing in Colorado Buffalo whose head coach is Deion Sanders. Same thing for North Dakota State,” Uncle Nelly said. As if calling out their opponents for having no business in securing a slot in NBC Network was not enough, he also advised them to not mess it up.

He advised Deion Sanders to take care to not display much of his ‘blemishes’ on the TV. That is not just because it would be on the TV but also because being on NBC this time would mean something very big for the Buffs. Colorado has not played a game on NBC since the 1995 Fiesta Bowl, making it the eighth game in CU history on a national broadcast. Ones like poor play calling, and sorely losing because of the O-line not doing a good job in protecting the QB, among other things that were on full display in their previous 4-8 season. Also, let’s not ignore the fact that the start of the season is not how Deion Sanders would have liked.

Deion Sanders’ tsk-tsks

When the schedule for CU Buffs was released, Deion Sanders gave his candid view on it on ‘Undisputed’. Not very good ones, so to say. Prime wanted to have a shot at their arch-rivals, the Colorado State Rams the first in the season, rather than North Dakota and Nebraska, who CU would be facing after their first game against North Dakota.

“Colorado State… shoot, I wish we could start off with that one,” Prime confessed on ‘Undisputed’. ‘The Rocky Mountain Rivalry’, as it is known, is a fan-favorite clash between CU and CO State. Deion Sanders won the previous season’s game against CO State, having a shot at building a streak in the rivalry. While that might be the case, it was another indirect message from Prime that Nebraska and North Dakota boys would be no joke.

“Those guys come to play and they can play,” Prime had cautioned about the North Dakota boys during the interview. With Prime apprehensive about the game and the fans waiting for it on the edge of their seats, would this mean another ‘we’ve seen this film before and didn’t like the ending’ for Colorado?
