Deion Sanders causes a huge mess
Since Deion Sanders got the Colorado job, many recruits there have lost their scholarships. Coach Prime wants to start a rebuild for the Buffaloes and lead them to the top as soon as he can. But at least 13 recruits have seen the end of their journey at Colorado as a result.
“It was a huge mess,” said Carson Mott, the defensive end who is one of the players affected by the overhaul. “I actually never got contacted by Deion or any of his new staff. I got called. They told me that coach Deion didn’t want to honor my commitment and hung up the phone,” Mott added.

Many players will have to look for new schools to take their football journeys forward. And Sanders will surely bring some new recruits in for the Buffaloes with him. Coach Prime made that clear in an interview where he warned the Colorado players that he would bring his own luggage, presumably referring to the players who will follow him to his new team. Sanders just finished a huge season with the Tigers, although a near-perfect season did end on a sour note.
Coach Prime’s near-perfect season
Deion Sanders led the Jackson State Tigers to an almost perfect season before heading West. Jackson State notched up victories for fun and ended the season with a 12-0 overall record and a place in the 2022 Celebration Bowl. The team fell at the last hurdle, though. The North Carolina Central Eagles defeated the Tigers 41-34 in the Bowl game that stretched to OT. Thus, the almost-perfect season ended on a low.

Sanders got emotional before the start of his last game with the Tigers. Coach Prime could not hold back his tears as he readied his players to play for him one last time.“Not tomorrow. Now. Not the next day. Now. Not next hour. Now. We’ve done it together and stayed together,” a teary-eyed Sanders said to his Tigers before the game.

Sanders joined the Tigers in 2020 and in a few years, put them on the college football map. The University of Colorado will hope that he can do a similar miracle with the Buffaloes.
