Dynamism in the transfer portal after almost 10 days of the transfer portal being closed? That sounds like the Colorado Buffs. Per the latest reports, there are some new additions and subtractions from the team of Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders has stockpiled 20 recruits for the 2024 season so far.

However, one pivotal player among them decided to reverse the course, backing up from the transfer portal. On the other hand, the new member at Boulder might just be the best solution to the situation.

Good and bad news for Deion Sanders and Co.

One of the top prospects that Colorado had high hopes for the defensive end, DJ Lundy announced his decision to back out of the transfer portal to stay at Tallahassee. This also cancels out the commitment he made to the Buffs. The LB’s decision to change the course will put a dent in Coach Prime’s plans for the upcoming season, given the adroitness Lundy possesses in the gridiron.

However, almost as a soothing balm to the wound, recruiting maestro Devin Rispress, the former Florida A&M Rattlers recruiting director, has assumed the role of director of recruiting at Boulder. Rispress’s association with the Rattlers dates back to 2022. Thus far, he has lined up some of the best recruiting classes, which was a key to Florida winning the program’s first Southwestern Athletic Conference title and the HBCU Bowl title in 2023.

Deion Sanders has yet to make any official statements about any developments on the defensive end. However, it will be on the priority list of Deion Sanders and Rispress to make up for the vacant position after the loss. Albeit it will be no one-day task. The LB is a next-level defender whose prowess is defined by his agility and adaptability with the ball.

DJ Lundy at the Seminoles

For the Seminoles, Lundy has proved to be quite the star player being a red jersey. He played in all 13 games last season, compiling a total of 48 tackles with just 1.5 sacks. He also tried his hands at being a two-way star for the team, scoring two touchdowns in the few games he played.

With just one year of eligibility left, Lundy decided that continuing as a Seminole was the best for him. What it would turn out for Deion Sanders, on the other hand, is a different question. Lundy was one of the two linebackers in the transfer portal book this season, a valuable one for that matter. For now, Deion Sanders’ response to the situation is awaited.
