Shedeur's tearful reflection—Does this make you root harder for the CU Buffs this season?

Woah! It’s going to be a bittersweet season for the Buffs fam. It’s Shedeur’s last run in college football, and Deion Sanders gearing up to announce the CU Buffs’ fall camp. And what better way to seize the attention of the fans than sharing Shedeur’s part of the story? On July 28, Coach Prime shared a snippet from the Buffs quarterback’s private jet ride. And to everybody’s surprise, Deion’s son did not just talk about luxury. Instead, Shedeur caught the feels at 40,000 feet and went down memory lane to see how fabulous this chapter of his life had been. If Shedeur will be away, does that bring Deion’s last-chance narrative into play?

This season is not going to be like any other season. Guessing why? Since during the 2025 season, the Colorado Buffaloes fam will have to accept a harsh truth. Next season, jersey no. 2 will be the forgotten uniform. Even though it’s nothing less to be proud of now that Shedeur will be sailing off to the NFL, still it will ache to accept Shedeur’s absence. Isn’t it enough reason to get the gang into a tight cluster? Deion then shared a video of the QB on IG with the caption, “Fall Camp Starts This Week #CoachPrime @cubuffsfootball.”

As Deion’s son gazed through the window, he in no way talked about luxury as he confirmed, “Season almost here, bro. You know what I always do, but this one is different.” Shedeur only soaked in his memories and just had to admit, how it had been no less than a thrilling journey, “It’s the last one at the college career. Last season. “For how far we came, it’s unthinkable. It’s beautiful. It’s pure. It’s legendary.” But will Shedeur’s season coming to an end also propel Deion to say goodbye to Boulder? Probably not.

Why Deion is not going anywhere?

Wondering where’s all this confidence stemming from? Deion’s hard work and commitment to find Shedeur’s replacement come off as the biggest assurance. Coach Prime has given his heart and soul to mission Julian “JuJu” Lewis. He is leaving no stone unturned to woo the USC Trojans’ five-star QB recruit.

From assigning 99-year-old big fan of Colorado, Peggy Coppom to root for Lewis to involving the Boulder town to gain the QB’s attention by naming the burger from the famous burger joint “JuJu Precision Pass Burger,” the Buffs HC emerged as the ultimate game-plan guru. If in reality, Deion had the plan of leaving Buffs post Shedeur’s departure, he wouldn’t have broken a sweat. What further sinks the theory of Deion’s grand finale season is the bonus that the Buffs HC has recently caught hold of.

Have an interesting take?

Deion turbocharged the Buffaloes’ finances. During Coach Prime’s tenure, podcast host Kevin Borba highlighted, “He gained the university over $340 million in media value. They have it at $87 million before he was there.” And what did the Buffs HC get in return, the school paid Sanders a $250,000 bonus. This is enough to lock Deion’s commitment for the longest time.
