The spring transfer portal has cast a heavy shadow over Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes. Coach Prime’s protective stance towards his quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders, and wide receiver, Travis Hunter, has been scrutinized in this tense environment. In a recent episode of the YouTube podcast “Crain & Company,” the host didn’t hold back, describing the current situation of the Buffaloes as a “make or break moment” in sport.

Meanwhile, Deion Sanders has been pivotal in determining Shedeur and Hunter’s next destination. Simultaneously, the program has been dealt a severe blow with only 14 players remaining and a struggling offensive line, raising concerns about the team’s future.

Recently, the Buffs roster has experienced a significant upheaval. With 14 players leaving Sanders’ program, the situation in Boulder is far from ideal. However, the Colorado HC has downplayed the potential impact. Addressing this, host Blain Crain remarked, “You’re no longer the cool kid at school and you’re now really the hunted after only winning those said four games and after all the talk Now’s the Time to either put up or shut up.” He elaborated on the current situation, “As good as Shedeur and Shilo and Travis Hunter are the Buffs are still going to be bad upfront and that is a death sentence in this sport at every level now.”

Among the players who have made of the Buffs family and hit the transfer portal is Cormani McClain. This also speaks to millions about Sanders being affectionate toward his Shedeur and Hunter. Even though the Buffs wide receiver has been injured, Sanders decided to keep McClain off the field. Now, he personally chooses the next destination for his favorite players in the NFL.

Deion Sanders’ protective guard for Shedeur

The glare was on the Buffs HC during his appearance on Million Dollarz Worth of Game on March 22. Talking about Shedeur and his two-way star, Hunter, he openly expressed his opinion, “I know where I want them to go. So, it’s certain cities that ain’t going to happen. It’s going to be an Eli.”

Earlier, Deion Sanders came up as a caring father, sharing his concern about how it would be difficult for Shedeur to adjust to a location known for its cold temperature. According to Coach Prime, “Like, I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson [Miss.], played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

Apart from this, even though Shedeur was the second-most sacked quarterback in Power Five last season, his father tried everything to protect him and made appropriate changes in the offensive line play. Having a historically bad offensive line and Deion Sanders losing some valuable talents to the transfer portal truly appears as a “death” statement for the Buffs.
