Deion Sanders is a messenger of hope! Sanders, who has battled health complications in the past, offered inmates of a children’s hospital in Denver a reason to believe.

It comes as no surprise that Coach Prime, who is seemingly fit and healthy, hasn’t evaded health scares. When he was coaching Jackson State in 2021, he suffered a severe case of a dislocated toe that resulted in three grave blood clots. Panic set in because he might’ve lost his leg if not for timely medical intervention.

Opening up about his surgery last August to USA Today, Deion Sanders said, “Man, forget the toes. They were charcoal black. They were dead… Take ‘em. What am I going to do with them?” This grim experience opened the eyes of Deion Sanders, who now gives hope and motivation to the youngsters at the children’s hospital in Denver.

Deion Sanders offers motivation to patients through life experience

Reach The People Media on June 25 showcased Deion Sanders visiting a children’s hospital in Denver, the biggest he’s ever seen. Partnering with Aflac, the nation’s leading provider of health supplemental insurance, the Buffs HC opened up about his previous medical crises to give insight and motivate admitted patients. He said, “Until I found myself on my back in the hospital for darn a month, dealing with blood clots, I really didn’t understand the other side of this. So I’ve sat in your seats, I’ve been there on that journey, I’ve been there wanting to accompany that wonderful duck that is so versatile.”

Deion Sanders’ health complication makes him suffer from an acute deep vein thrombosis, which leads to severe problems with blood circulation in both his feet. Two years ago, he endured as many as nine surgeries that cost him two toes. “I was hurting so bad because I wasn’t getting any blood flow down there over the last year. Now the blood flow is great,” he said about the surgeries. His positivity is what pulled him out of those dark times as he attempted to impart the same level of zeal to the ailing patients at the hospital. And that’s not all. He encouraged everyone to have regular checkups.

On June 19, Deion Sanders made an appearance on Good Morning America to talk about his ongoing health issues. I’m getting better,” he said. “My health journey has been a tremendous challenge but a learning experience as well.” During the discussion, he dropped a valuable message for everyone.

Deion Sanders said, “We need to start going and encouraging one another to go get checked out, to go see what’s going on, to make sure you’re healthy. We want you around. We’re fathers.” Putting everything aside, a person’s health is their biggest wealth, and as Coach Prime puts it, timely checkups can prevent life-threatening complications.
