The mudslinging doesn’t stop! Athlon Sports‘ Steve Corder rudely thrust Deion Sanders into the spotlight by publishing a piece targeting the Buffaloes football head coach. Corder’s report alleged that Coach Prime had “threatened” his players before the Prime Weekend Lil Wayne concert.

Corder wrote: “According to CU player sources, Sanders made the concert mandatory for all his players and reportedly threatened to dismiss anyone who skipped out.

With Shedeur Sanders opening for the Wayne concert, Deion Sanders apparently wanted to force every player on the team to be there to support his son’s musical foray. This led to criticism of Coach Prime, who flatly denied making such comments, and many have come forward to support him.

Deion Sanders gets trolled with false narrative

Per an upload by Black and White Sports on YouTube on June 17, host John Matrixx defends Deion Sanders as the allegations against the Buffs HC take a drastic turn. According to what Matrixx read from a post titled “Colorado players quit over Lil Wayne concert: Report” by OutKick, “The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal… When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur Sanders as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and daddy ball was being played.”

This accusation has put Deion Sanders in hot water, as rumors have it that he “threatened to dismiss anyone who didn’t attend the concert.” It has been alleged that the incident prompted some Buffs players to hit the transfer portal. As Matrixx puts it, “Folks, I don’t believe this. This just really seems wild. Wild.”

This rumored incident could explain why as many as 42 Colorado players exited the team through the transfer portal since the last season ended. Add to this the fact that the squad lost six straight games. Many also pointed fingers at the roster changes during the offseason.

After the Colorado game, which was reportedly attended by over 28,000 fans, Shedeur commenced his second season as the Buffs’ starting quarterback by performing Perfect Timing, an original track.

Needless to say, Deion Sanders, along with his close ones, just laughed off the “threatening” rumors.

As the rumor spread, Deion Sanders took to social media to clear the misconception. He wrote, “This is one of the best lies I’ve ever heard. God bless u and I pray u sleep well tonight because we are. Lawd JESUS.” Deion Sanders Jr. also couldn’t hide his amusement at the twisted lie as he posted, “Bro this is hilarious. They basically said he forcing people to listen to his son’s mixtapes. Dawg this is next level funny.

A member of his coaching staff, the Buffs Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips, said, “This might be the best one yet. Let’s see how outlandish they get when we winning. Now I’m entertained.” Even the fans were laughing. One of them, Mat Smith, posted on X, “Had several folks reach out trying to confirm Deion making concert “mandatory” per article’s claims. First, that’s entirely false, every player received free tickets and were fired up about it. No one was ‘forced’ to attend.” Unfortunately, this isn’t the only rumor that Deion Sanders will face in the near future. But for now, let’s let the case rest in peace.
