The 2024 season will mark the end of an era for Coach Prime. With Shedeur, Shilo, and Travis Hunter heading off to the NFL next year, Deion Sanders now has to plan out what he wants to do with the Buffs. While this change would leave him with another opportunity to rebuild the Buffs from the ground up, he still had to grab the best new talents for the team. And would you look at that? Deion has made his first move.

Cortez Mills, the 4-star WR from Oklahoma, took to X on August 1st to share what Coach Prime had sent him over. “I would like to extend an offer of full a scholarship to attend the University of Colorado,” the image Mills had shared had that present on it. While the offer stands for Mills, what makes this situation more interesting is that back on July 2nd, he committed to the Sooners. “I committed to Oklahoma. I knew it. I felt comfortable,” Mills had told to On3 Recruits. While no one knows if Mills would flip his commitment and join Coach Prime, what we do know is that he would be the perfect replacement for Hunter.

On3 Industry Ranking puts Mills on No.15 WR in the entire 2025 class. On3 Josh McCuistion went on to mention that Mills reminded him of the Washington star Jalen McMillan. With around 1640 yards and 18 touchdowns under his belt, Mills definitely has the skills to skyrocket the Buffs to a solid 2025 season. However, Mills wasn’t the only one Coach Prime had in his crosshairs.

On July 30th we got a glimpse of how our new X-receiver for the Buffs is doing. The main problem that Shedeur faced back in 2023 was that he got rocked in those pockets. Without any proper targets to pass the ball to, it became a night for the young QB. So, what did Deion Sanders do? Well, he got Will Sheppard on the team. That kid has clocked in a top speed of 20.9 MPH on the field. This would match perfectly with Shedeur’s agility and accuracy. With around 21 touchdowns with 2000 receiving yards under his belt, Sheppard is going to be a marvel to witness.

What makes things more interesting is that the sole reason he took up Coach Prime was offered to play alongside Shedeur. “Obviously getting to play with Shedeur,” Sheppard had mentioned. We gonna get some new bromance on the field folks. 28 more days and we gonna see what the Buffs cook up this year.
