Travis Hunter is on EA Sports College Football 25 the cover? Now that’s a game worth fumbling over! At least the Colorado Buffaloes army and Hunter’s teammates feel so. This is enough for the trio- WR Omarion Miller, CB DJ McKinney, and Safety Travis Jay to make it a little celebration on Instagram.
It’s an absolute WIN-WIN situation for Deion Sanders’ army. First of all the long wait is over as the EA CFB 25 release date is knocking at the door and will make a landfall on July 19th. What is more interesting is Hunter being the only Buff in Colorado’s history to get a breakthrough on the cover.

The Buffs players are on cloud nine! As they are about to experience the explosive gameplay variety across 134 FBS schools, the cover features the three musketeers, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado’s dual-threat Hunter doing rounds on social media. The NIL collective, 5430 Alliance had dropped a special cover with “Launch Party” written on it. Miller shared the poster on his IG on July 9 with the bold caption, “Are you ready for NCAA 25? I want you to join me July 19, 2024 3pm at the University Memorial Center on campus here in Boulder, Co.”

His teammates, McKinney and Jay too hitched a ride on the celebration carousel and posted the launch poster. Wondering why the players are rooting for Hunter’s success? It is a massive win for Colorado, who had never had a player featured on the cover. Besides, Deion’s program now has a cover athlete. Hunter is featured front and center next to two giants. One is a national champion tailback and the other is the standout QB who deserves all the credit to bring Texas back to national relevance. Like the program, it is a BIG WIN for the two-way star as well.
Hunter earns the highest player rating
Sharing the same cover with the Texas QB Ewers was a surprise in itself for Hunter. But WAIT! Did the star QB just drop some kind words for Colorado’s dual-threat? When approached about the rating for the video game, Ewers shared his thoughts about Hunter via MMG. To quote the QB, “I’m not sure if they’re going to put anyone at 99, but if they do, I think (Hunter) will be the closest to it.” He did not just let his statements hang in the air and further established his assumptions, “His overall ability on offense, defense, and special teams… He can do it all.”

Not only Hunter, EA Sports too confirmed that Hunter further added to the College Football 25 buzz on May 31. Life and Football came up with a tweet, “Highest RATED PLAYER in @EASPORTSCollege 25 Colorado’s TRAVIS HUNTER”. Why wouldn’t he? He was one of the most talented youngsters on the field, after finishing the year with 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns.
CBS Sports college football analyst Blake Brockermeyer too championed Colorado’s two-way star’s impressive skills, “(Hunter) is a generational player and, if he took fewer snaps offensively at wide receiver, would be even more effective for Colorado’s defense.” Hunter’s high ratings must be the cause of him ticking off all the checkboxes- awareness, zone coverage and tackling. July 19 comes with the ultimate test for Travis!
