July 16th was a wild ride. Polkway, an account on X, had shared that Cormani McClain was apparently removed from the Gator because of his behavior issues. This pretty much came out of nowhere, as there were zero changes or updates from the Gators themselves, or even Billy Napier. While McClain’s agent, Hector Rivas was quick and completely shrugged off the claims. It did open a whole new discussion about the problems that McClain had caused on the team and the past. However, now we have even more fuel being added to the fire.
NoChillWill took to X on July 29th to ask Polkway a serious question. “@polk_way is cormani still on UF? He is not on the roster,” ChillWill had mentioned. And guess what folks, we did some digging around the 2024 roster list, and behold, Cormani was nowhere to be found. Him being removed from the Gators after whatever went down between July 16th and 18th is kind of weird. Because Billy Napier himself had come out and defended McClain. “He’s doing fine. I think a lot of this has been blown out of proportion,” Napier had mentioned. McClain was still on the team and had made good progress as well. Napier had mentioned how the kid had gained 10 more pounds and he was doing just fine while learning and experiencing the culture at Florida.

Even Deion Sanders Jr added a fresh perspective to the entire scene. “You know what I’m saying? A lot of schools be doing that,” he explained. This points to the fact that some schools often use people like Polkway to generate drama in the community. Now why is this done? Well, to probably stay relevant. Still, the reasons for McClain’s removal from the team point to a much bigger issue that has been going on in the Gators for a long time.
Napier’s fault?

Out of all the people, imagine Coach JB preaching right or wrong. On his show, JB was quite brutal with his words, and Napier for all the problems. Many had speculated that McClain was removed because of his disrespectful behavior in the camp, which directly stems from the fact. Nick from On3 had called McClain out as “immature” and also went on to claim that he “needs to grow up.” JB went on to expose the behavior issues that were frequent in the Gators. “I did a viral video of a coach actually slapping him and his assistant coach’s hands off of him and going back in the game as if, what?” JB had noted.
Back during a game against Florida, St. Eugene Wilson was spotted swatting away a coach’s hands and casually returning to the game. “I’m blaming Billy Napier, a guy that has no power five experience prior,” JB went on to say. While as of now there is zero confirmation where McClain is removed or suspended from the team, what we do know is that this would probably start another social media frenzy like the one on July 16th.
