Coach Prime’s Colorado Buffaloes have seen a lot of player departures lately, but the most shocking was Cormani McClain. But more than the exit, his stint thereafter caught the most attention. McClain, a top-ranked cornerback recruit, hinted at dissatisfaction with the program by saying he wants a team that values him more. This was a blow to Colorado fans, as McClain was expected to get plenty of playing time and learn from the legendary Deion Sanders. However, it seems like those dreams were short-lived.

Reports have emerged of Cormani McClain making subtle jabs at Deion while he was still part of the program. While it’s understandable for a player to seek more recognition, the direct disrespect toward a coach of Sanders’ stature has raised eyebrows. A Buffs insider has now confirmed these rumors, putting an end to any lingering doubts.

recent video features an insider shedding light on the reasons behind the Colorado Buffaloes’ player exodus. The insider specifically delves into cornerback Cormani McClain’s case, stating, “I’ve seen statements from guys and he’s saying things like you know he wanted to go to a program that wasn’t click-based.” This indicates that McClain had long been discontent with the team environment under Sanders.

However, the insider defends Coach Sanders, stating, “I witnessed a head coach who goes well out of his way to not tell what he could tell about his player.” This shows that Coach Sanders is always careful not to say anything wrong about his players, even if they are with or not with the team. Thus, the insider believes Cormani’s post-departure behavior was quite extreme to the coach and his team.

After entering the transfer portal, cornerback Cormani McClain surprised many by criticizing Coach Prime and the Colorado program. While playing time might have been a factor, McClain offered more details about his decision. “Sometimes people need to take a step back,” the cornerback revealed. “I don’t want to play for attention, I want to be part of a program that develops players,” he said. In a way, he suggested Coach Prime is focused too much on “clicks” and viewership rather than player development. However, he never directly named Deion Sanders, but it was clear who he was referring to.

Meanwhile, Deion’s son, Shilo Sanders, also weighed in on the situation. He criticized the transfers, especially Cormani, who seemed to think Coach Prime played favorites. Shilo’s message was clear: if you’re good and ready, you’ll get playing time. Despite that, Cormani left, looking for a better situation elsewhere. However, at just 20 years old, he may soon discover that bigger challenges await him in his football career.
