Shedeur Sanders hardly anticipated the wrath that would follow his tweet. The sensitivity of the subject, however, was something that Shedeur Sanders seems to have grossly underestimated. While the Buffs QB was just trying to defend his fathers against the claims made against him, the way he did flared up the rage among the fans. They detested Shedeur Sanders for putting down his former teammate in his tweet saying, “Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.”

The statement raised several questions about Shedeur Sanders’ leadership skills as a QB from fans, even questioning his NFL-worthiness. All because the hurtful words from Shedeur came after Xavier Smith’s highly emotional words. “I was actually getting mad, like tears coming out of my eyes. Because bro, you never even tried to get to know me,” Smith said about his time at CU, specifically aimed at Deion Sanders.

Dov Kleiman chipped in his two cents on the rising backlash on Shedeur Sanders. “Confidence is quickly turning into arrogance…,” Kleiman said on X. Kleiman’s comments came as a part of the heightening criticism of Shedeur Sanders’ comment. Several others have poured in their views on the situation, condemning Shedeur in a similar light. And they didn’t hold back on the sarcasm either while presenting their views.

One of them was CBS Sports’ Bud Elliot. “Can’t quite figure out why guys wouldn’t want to come and be a backup at Colorado,” Elliot said sarcastically, replying to Shedeur Sanders’ tweet of calling Smith “mid.” While it is just Shedeur Sanders’ whose comment is being brutally called out more, since he is the starting QB aka the leader of the Buffs, other players have not held back from speaking against Smith’s claim.

Other CU Buffs players stand strong with Shedeur Sanders

Giving strong competition to all the negative tweets swirling around on the internet are the ones who stand strong with Coach Prime amidst the allegations. Several Buffs’ players, along with CU alumni and CFB gurus, have presented their take in Prime’s favor.

Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, the safety at Buffs stood in solitary support with Deion Sanders, calling out the antics from Smith. “Boy they stay tryna paint this bad image of my coach and the program when reality if you work yo butt off and make plays you will be celebrated and appreciated and if you don’t do those things you’re not built for this team just the truth,” Silmon-Craig tweeted.

Supporting this, came Tyler Brown’s tweet saying, “Absolutely frustrating seeing all these negative articles about my coach and our program. You work hard and you will be rewarded! Don’t believe the lies!”

Propagating for the fostering culture here, Justin Mayers tweeted, “They really want you to prosper here not only as a player but as a man at CU. Everyone here gets equal opportunity to play. All these players aren’t telling the truth when they leave here.”
