The star of the Buffs is making waves inside and outside the gridiron. As of 17th April 2023, the official page of the Colorado Buffaloes tweet read that Travis Hunter has achieved outstanding brilliance academically by recording a 4.0 GPA. There have been instances where Deion Sanders himself has talked about Hunter being the top-3 pick at the 2025 NFL Draft and now with him attaining academic excellence, he is sure to be one of Colorado’s greats.

Along with Hunter, other Buffs’ players who were awarded the Classroom Excellence awards include the likes of Charlie Offerdahl and Joshka Gustav. Hunter’s CGPA has drastically increased since January when his psychology degree boasted a 3.64 GPA.

He is on his way to being an exceptional athlete and possesses brains along with the brawns of a fine wide receiver, which will surely take him to great heights in his journey of being a professional football player. With all that said, here’s CBS Sports’ Blake Brockermeyer talking about why Hunter is a generational talent.

“Generational player”: Blake Brockermeyer’s praise for Travis Hunter

As per the Buffs’ 2023 season, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter were the only two players who stood out from what was a disappointing run from the team. Hunter raked in 57 receptions for 721 yards and 5 touchdowns. With many of the fans considering him a Colorado prodigy, here is Brockermaeyer’s song of praise for the cornerback.

He said, “Hunter is a generational player and, if he took fewer snaps offensively at wide receiver, would be even more effective for Colorado’s defense. Hunter missed a handful of games after taking a cheap shot in the Colorado State game and still notched 1,044 snaps. He had seven games with more than 100 snaps, doing so as a two-way player. That is more than two seasons worth of reps for the typical defender.”

Thus, Hunter could be the key to the Buffaloes’ redemption arc this season as Coach Prime’s squad aims to make a dent in the NCAA soon.
