The name and wave of Paul Finebaum has taken over the world of college football. His criticism has subjected the coaches to wrath, yet he’s no closer to mincing his words. Under the radar of Finebaum have been several coaches like Deion Sanders, Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, and even Sherrone Moore but this time, the AD of the Buffaloes is speaking out against the harsh statements.
Deion Sanders and Paul Finebaum have shared a bitter relationship ever since his debut with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2023. Before he even stepped foot on the gridiron, Finebaum termed Deion as just another “celebrity coach.” Despite not going past a poor record of 4-8 last year, Deion very well proved himself against the demeaning title and showed everyone that he was in it to win it. Now, after being belittled by Finebaum yet again about how he’s an impatient coach and won’t stay in Boulder for too long, Rick George is dishing it right back to the ESPN analyst.

In a conversation with BuffStampede Podcast, Rick George came on to the show on the 27th of July to talk about the team’s development for this season and provide several more updates for the fans. In one of the segments, he was asked about his feelings towards the harsh comments that Paul Finebaum has been making recently, and George’s reply held no negativity whatsoever.

George knows better than to indulge himself in petty social media heat and prefers to have his tunnel vision on the team’s performance. When asked about his thoughts on Finebaum’s words, he said, “We are focusing on what we are doing and I think you’ll see a team that is really really solid football this fall.” Thus, the Buffaloes are used to their fair share of scrutiny since last year and as such, they have their eyes set on bettering themselves this season rather than pay heed to the barking hate that envelopes the team constantly. With that being said, here’s a look at how Deion took subtle jabs of himself against Paul Finebaum on X.

Deion Sanders has been known to come off as a “bully” or a strongly opinionated person when it comes to social media beefs but this was one of the few occasions when Coach Prime chose to be the bigger man and let things slide. After Finebaum termed the Buffaloes’ program as “nothing” and talked trash about how the team will never compete for the Playoffs, Robert Griffin came out in support of Colorado and said, “I VEHEMENTLY disagree with Paul Finebaum’s criticism. Colorado is very relevant and broke TV viewership records last year.”
To which Deion replied and reposted by writing, “God is good my brother & they mad mad! I sense a bit of anger & hostility. Lolololololol God bless @RGIII for always keeping it 💯” The wave of hate and negative spotlight isn’t something that Deion isn’t acquainted with at this point but it’s high time that he makes all these critics eat their words and issue their apologies after hopefully having an explosive 2024 season.
