The Deion Sanders rumors are nowhere near taking a break. The Colorado supporters are ready to smash those right off the hook. Bring it on! With an identical mindset, BuffsStampede podcast host Adam Munsterteiger and CU Athletic Director Rick George kicked off their conversation surrounding the negatively perceived image of Deion Sanders.
In the latest episode of the BuffsStampede podcast aired on July 26, Munsterteiger and George went all out on the “naysayers” attacking Deion Sanders. “One thing I wanna say is that the media that is attacking Coach Prime in this program, they’re not around here. They don’t know Coach Prime the way that we, the ones who are around the program on a regular basis, do,” Munsterteiger said, giving out his honest and unfiltered opinions on people commenting negative things about Coach Prime (look at any recent comment of Paul Finebaum on Colorado, for instance!)
George seized the opportunity to dismantle all the negative stories about Deion Sanders once and for all, turning the tables against the allegations of Coach Prime. “That is hard sometimes. The misconception of Coach Prime. Incredible individual. He’s driven. He’s knows what it takes to be successful. He hired a great staff,” said George, counting all the things Deion Sanders revamped since their humiliating 4-8 season. However, Deion Sanders and Co. are not letting this reputation hold them back.

“Our goal is to focus on what we have in front of us to, tune out all that noise that’s out there, and make this program really great. And I think Coach Prime’s gonna do that. This is going to be a big step in that direction,” proudly said Colorado AD Rick George, setting their vision for the 2024 season straight. As if he already had not enough reasons to, Paul Finebaum has another reason to swallow his words on Colorado.

“Colorado is irrelevant in the big picture,” was the firm belief of Paul Finebaum that initially landed him in the burning trouble he finds himself in today. To make it worse, the SEC analyst didn’t limit his strong opinions to Colorado; he even dragged Deion Sanders into it, saying, “I’m not sure that Deion Sanders could get them to the playoffs because he doesn’t have the patience to stay at Colorado.” That did it for the CU supporters as they lambasted Finebaum for his overly critical words.

However, getting fueled by the hate, Finebaum even suggested that Sanders would be a perfect “replacement of USC head coach Lincoln Riley” if he decides to leave Colorado. For two reasons: One, because Riley is also rumored to be leaving USC, and two, Sanders would get Julian Lewis there, the QB he always wanted to coach.
A terrible idea. Things escalated pretty quickly for Finebaum as everyone, even head coaches like Lane Kiffin, came forward to shut the SEC analyst down. Now, Colorado’s AD has added another layer to his verdict on Finebaum, too.
