It’s time for former Colorado Buffaloes to start their new journey this season. The Colorado transfer RB Alton McCaskill has committed to transfer to Arizona State, as he confirmed in X on May 9. The former tailback is one of the many who gave Deion Sanders a tough time in the spring window of the transfer portal. However, their commitments only make the Buffs’ journey tougher in the times ahead.

As McCaskill heads to Arizona, he will join another Colorado transfer, Dylan Edwards, being part of the same conference. Isn’t it concerning enough for Colorado now that McCaskill and Edwards have become their conference rivals?

With three years of college eligibility remaining, McCaskill commits himself to Arizona State. The former Colorado and Houston running back confirmed the news by sharing an exciting video holding the football program’s patent symbol, a yellow-colored pitchfork. The caption read, “Committed.”

The Sun Devils have had McCaskill on their radar for years since he has been known for his resilience. He was sidelined with his knee injury for three games at the start of the season but ensured to make a comeback by rushing for 59 yards on 14 carries. However, he tried his luck somewhere else and followed in the footsteps of his Buffs teammate, Dylan Edwards.

Now, McCaskill has moved to Arizona State, while Edwards has also confirmed to join Kansas State. Both Arizona State and Kansas State belong to the Big 12 Conference. In that case, both the players will be conference rivals to Deion Sanders’ Colorado, which belongs to Mountain West. Even though McCaskill and Edwards’ transfer journey has been similar, McCaskill has been vocal about his respect toward the Buffs HC while Edwards chose a silent stance.

McCaskill takes accountability showing respect for Sanders

When it was confirmed that McCaskill was no longer willing to be a part of Buffaloes, his father took shots at Coach Prime. In one of his tweets, the player’s father attacked Deion Sanders, “He was ready last year! He’s a 100% this year! Unfortunately have to find another home where there’s no favoritism and he is valued.”

However, McCaskill immediately pounced on the action and retaliated against his father’s claim, confirming he had no relation with his father, “Statement is not true!!! I don’t not have relations with this man. Please check my page for official statement.”

As the running back made his way out of Boulder, Deion Sanders shared some advice. To ensure McCaskill’s Boulder journey concludes positively, Coach Prime stated, “All good man and soar like u desire to and don’t allow the foolishness of life to detour u. You have a gift, unwrap it and exercise it. Mama-neem depending on u man. Go Get it and keep GOD 1st.”

McCaskill has been spotted with a pitchfork, indicating how he will be taking up the role of Sparky, the Sun Devil. Whether Deion Sanders Buffaloes will avoid getting speared is now to be seen. The ultimate clarity will come with the next matchup between the football conferences.
