There is not a single person unaware of who the legend Bill Goldberg is. Now the son of the wrestling icon, Gage Goldberg, too, walks on his father’s path, but differently. Gage’s father was in the WWE Hall of Fame; however, he wished to make waves in the gridiron.

The younger Goldberg has committed to Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes this season. However, few know that he is equally diligent in playing baseball. Recently, Gage shared a post showcasing his athletic versatility and grip on baseball on his Instagram story

The post shared by Gage is evidence of how he ushered in a victory for his high school, Boerne Champion, over the opponent, Pieper High School, 5-4. He has been a strong player in Boerne-Champion Varsity Baseball and played for the C position. Gage owns a base percentage of 417 in 2023-2024.

Going by his records in baseball, he sincerely works behind the ball and has powerful hands. At the plate, he ensures that he hunts the fastball early in counts. His active feet and intricate sitting posture help him leave a mark in baseball with his crouched set-up and short strides.

However, Junior Goldberg impressively diversifies his athletic interest and versatility at this young age through baseball and football. According to Gage, “Playing two sports in high school, it makes you a better athlete.” As of now, between his two diverse interests, Gage went for strengthening his grounds in football. On January 14 this year, Bill Goldberg’s son verbally committed to Coach Prime’s Buffs and accepted the PWO opportunity.

In an interview, the football star expressed the reason behind his choice: “One, Deion is obviously an amazing coach and he’s gonna help me excel for the next four to five years and maybe, hopefully, get me to the next level or just make me a better person during this whole process, make me a better teammate. I like where the program is going, too.”

His father is also excited about his son as he embarks on a new journey following his passion. Bill is convinced that Gage will be in expert hands with the Buffaloes. Interestingly, the youngster will be the second member of the Goldberg family to play for Colorado. Earlier, it was Bill’s nephew, David Goldberg, who lettered at CU between 2009 and 2011.

But initially, Gage Goldberg was all set to join hands with the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, Nick Saban’s retirement transformed his plan entirely, and now he will be playing under Deion Sanders, his father’s long-time acquaintance since the ’90s.
