Another brother is joining the Colorado bros as the program gets ready to face the 2024 season. Many players hit the portal this spring, but that didn’t keep Deion Sanders from ushering in some valuable weapons themselves. After getting a commitment from Florida A7M star LB Johnny Chaney Jr, one of the top defenders from HBCU national champion FAMU, the Buffs get another brother after Brandon and Colton Hood.

With the Hood brothers, Colorado already had a unique FBS record of five sets of brothers on their team, with each set playing either offense or defense. These duos include QB Shedeur and safety Shilo Sanders, WR LaJohntay and LB Jaylen Wester, QB Destin and LB Keaten Wade, WR Kaleb, and CB Kole Mathis, and RB Brandon and CB Colton Hood. Now it’s DL Chidozie Nwankwo’s turn to swerve the spotlight on his brother, who just committed to the CU Buffs.

While the last season may have been a disappointing hit on them, he’s looking prepared to join his brother and Deion Sanders in Colorado as he uploaded his announcement on X, slightly smiling in the Black and Gold uniform. He is only grateful for the opportunity as he wrote, “Thank you God for this opportunity.” With more and more players coming in, Colorado can feel hopeful. Also, one of the Colorado Buffaloes’ set of brothers recently accomplished an impressive achievement. So, they could be in good hands.

RB Brandon Hood is a freshman who will see his first college football action on the Folsom Field. The 5’11”, 190-pounder played two seasons at Eagles Landing Christian Academy as a football player and track runner. He’s also a baseball player, and he recently brought pride and hope to Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes name by qualifying for the State 100-meter finals.

Brandon Hood, a torchbearer of resilience, ran a 10.9 in the 100 race, securing a commendable second place. What’s truly remarkable is that he achieved this feat despite a torn ACL he suffered in 2022, which limited his play to just five games that season. His speed, a welcome tool in the Buffs’ offense, is proof of his unwavering commitment to the game and the team’s pursuit of victory.
