With the NFL draft looming on the horizon, Colorado Alumni Joel Klatt is looking for the perfect draft QB for the Denver Broncos. During his speculation, Bo Nix from the Oregon Ducks emerged as the frontrunner.
Nix has been appreciated for his qualities on the ball and intelligence regarding his understanding of the game. Despite some gaps in his arm talent and athleticism compared to other targets, Klatt believes Nix’s ability to ‘be present at the right spot on the right moment’ makes someone who would fit perfectly in Sean Payton’s program at Denver.

Nix’s potential as a ‘quick progressor‘ and his ‘accurate passing‘ give him an edge over other players. Klatt also appreciated his style and the experience he would bring to the team. Dan Lanning, the head coach of Oregon Ducks was all praises for Nix saying, “I’ve never been around a quarterback like Bo that understands what we’re trying to accomplish so well”. He also believes that Nix has the potential to be a great offensive coordinator on the pitch. While the decision eventually lies in the hands of Sean Payton and his staff at Denver, Lanning has also backed his faith in Nix, saying, “I’ll take my guy over anyone.”
Denver has been $21 million over their salary cap. Hence, a new quarterback would have to come in cheap. This frees top targets like Caleb Williams and Drake Maye out of their budget. This allows Sean Payton to build his team around someone like Nix, who can complement the team’s abilities.
