Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter: The future of college football or just another hype train?

The Buffs are leaving their mark even before the season starts! The star prospects of the 2025 NFL draft Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are set to make waves before their last collegiate season. Travis Hunter is already an avid Twitch streamer, and now he’s all set to get his QB partner Shedeur Sanders into the business. The two are all set to make a special online appearance for their fans with EA Sports 25 on Twitch.

The pair are sitting down this Sunday, July 14, and live streaming on Twitch for their fans. Shedeur Sanders shared this news on his Instagram stories. The two athletes are already beloved in the EA Sportsbooks. Back in May, Travis Hunter shook everyone by making it to the cover of EA Sports CFB 25’s game cover. Shedeur Sanders didn’t cut then, and it shocked people. Controversies surrounding the two started brewing, even sparks of animosity between them were rumored but Shedeur Sanders promptly buried them.

Now, after just two months, the QB has also made it to the top of the EA Sports list. The list of being the top-ranked QB. On Thursday, Well Off Media shared the QB rating list by EA Sports in which Shedeur was awarded a 93, making him to top-listed QB among all the QBs except one. Georgia’s Carson Beck. Beck, too, scored 93, making it a tie between the two. By the looks of it, Carson Beck is looking as the top contender of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL draft.

Carson Beck vs. Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter

Looking at the dozens of early 2025 mock drafts, one thing is clear: Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are highly likely to be a top 10 pick in the draft. However, the one CFB player who is an ultimate threat to their high overall ranking is Carson Beck. All the mock drafts that project Shedeur Sanders as a top 5, also have Carson Beck in the same circle.

Take ESPN’s Matt Miller’s mock draft, for example. In it, Beck has swept the position of QB1 in the 2025 NFL draft from Shedeur Sanders along with the overall No.1 pick. Whereas Sanders had to settle with QB2 and overall draft pick No.2 with the Raiders. Amid these two, Travis Hunter got awarded the 9th overall pick as a first-rounder, with the likelihood of him landing with the Cardinals.

Hence, along with connecting more with their fans through such live streams, Hunter and Sanders would need to focus and perform their best this season to get that upper hand against Beck. They would need to give the scouting heads a good taste of their talent, ensuring that they both get drafted as the top players.
