The potential No.1 QB ended up being the most sacked player back in the 2023 season with a terrible run at 4-8. And Coach Prime is gonna do everything in his power to fix it. With the current changes in Colorado and the major additions of 6 new linemen, it is gonna change it all for Shedeur and the boys.

Like Andy Staples mentions on the August 1st episode of On3. “This offseason has revamped that offense into something that is closer to what he would like to run,” Staples mentioned. With the changed lineup, Shedeur would have the freedom to run the ball more and throw in better passes. Staples went on to mention how he thinks Shedeur’s accuracy and overall pass completion rate are gonna be on a whole new level this year. “Part of the reason why he wasn’t efficient, Is out of his control and needs to be fixed,” Staples had noted. The 2023 season was worse because Deion Sanders had thought that Shedeur and Travis would be enough to carry the team to a solid win. Boy, was he wrong? CU Alum, Matt McChesney back on Coach JB Show had explained perfectly how Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter can shine on the field when they don’t have to do everything. “You give these skilled players a little bit of time and support by running the football and then defensively,” McChesney further went on to advise.

And Deion Sanders listened. With the revamped O-line, Shedeur would be able to move more freely. If all of it does work out, this would be just like Jayden Daniels’s Heisman story. Daniels had faded from the playoff picture when LSU lost to Alabama. However, he had major potential and LSU knew it. The camp ran a solid campaign to ensure support for their QB. With changes in the lineup, the Tigers ended their next season against Texas and Daniels went on to grab the Heisman Trophy. “I think you’re going to see those efficiency numbers rise and you could see a big year for Shedeur Sanders,” Staples mentioned at the end of the segment. However, the end of the 2024 season would also open another door for Shedeur!

The NFL

Pro Football Network’s mock draft list brought some exciting news for Buffs fans. They predicted that Shedeur might end up with the Giants. “The #Giants secure their QB of the future in Shedeur Sanders in this 2025 mock draft 👀” PFN shared on X back on July 27th. NFL Analyst James Fragoza, who had made the mock list, also shared some interesting opinions in his report. “Sanders is one of the best QB prospects in the 2025 NFL,” Fragoza mentioned. This reminds us of what Daniel Jeremiah had noted in his scouting report. Jeremiah mentioned how Shedeur has a solid release weight transfer and has an amazing ability to drive the ball downfield. He also went on to compare Shedeur with Seahawks Geno Smith.

If the new O-line works out this year and Shedeur manages to slip through the gaps and score some wins for the team, then Staples and Fragoza would both end up being right. Let’s hope this year becomes the year of redemption for Coach Prime and the Buffs.
